Hope South Carolina drivers pick up on this. The driving down here couldn't get any worse. My insurance rates doubled when I moved here from Pontiac, Michigan. Love my home town

Folks: Please note that the car they tested was without Side Air Bags (SAB). Those of us who opted for them should enjoy even better protection, potentially giving us a 5 rating for passenger side rating.

That's info I'm printing out and taking to my insurance agent TOMORROW! He said the Vibe has a high rollover risk. 5-stars doesn't sound like a high risk to me. My insurance went from $880/yr on my Sunbird to 1260/yr on the Vibe. Sure it's a newer car but my 2002 Chrysler Voyager (less than a year old and a couple thousand dollars more) only costs $880/yr. Funny thing is, the Voyager has only a 4-star rating for frontal impact and a 3-star for rollover while the Vibe has 5-star front and 4-star rollover. My insurance better drop $200/6-months real fast or my agent will get dropped real fast.

Geesh! What else could make this car more desireable? Could this be the best affordable car ever designed? I think maybe yes. Its only going to get harder and take longer to get one now. Still waiting for mine.

Now that I look at the chart it all makes sense. Vibe/Matrix are the same car. Matrix is made by Toyota. Toyota Tundra is the safest pick up truck on the road. (per I.I.H.S) so I can see why it has good ratings. I think if this car were all GM, they would have been lower than what they are.
