Sponsorship

Good stuff, I just got sponsored by a local parts dealer here in Seattle $625 in primary money (they said they'd give me more later) for spending on car part a dream come true lol. So yeah basically I can buy parts through them at factory direct prices and get paid for going to car shows, stuff like that, and the only thing I need to do in return is put a 1" x 5" logo on my car somewhere, where the occasional hat and shirt with logos, and just generally try to promote their store (business cards, flyers, shirts, word of mouth, etc) So I thought it was a pretty damn good deal, gonna see if I can get second sponsor. That engine rebuild and full car modification isn't looking so unrealistic after all

Basically just go find a somewhat reputable racing parts dealer (altho I suppose if you just want money to spend and not discounted parts you could get any kind of automotive sponsor) since the smaller ones tend not to want to sponsor you, so you want to find one with enough money that they will be able to give you some as well as free parts on occasion. Then what you want to do is make some kind of a proposal for instance I agreed that I would put the logo on my car as well as wear apparel with the shop logo and that they were a registered dealer of GReddy, AEM, Injen, etc. The one thing is they usually make you sign a contract that says you need to be sponsored for a certain amount of time and you cannot just bail out on them after you get the money (altho not sure why you would want to since you can get free parts and factory prices on a lot of parts) which I thought was perfectly reasonable since mine was for a year and longer if I wanted to "renew" it later. As well, they are going to give me business cards with my name on them in addition to the manager's name and store number. Also one of the requirements is that I go to at least 1 regional car show like HIN, the other large ones are optional but some companies will pay you to go to them. Also if you are lazy like my friends lol you can go through
http://www.carsponsorships.com which essentially hooks you up with national sponsors (I think I don't quite remember) their sponsorship are about the same as the one I described altho after you actually get accepted for sponsorship by a company you need to pay carsponsorship.com $79 for the "processing fee" but I mean what can you say they gotta stay in business somehow (I didn't pay anything to anyone cause I just went and asked the parts dealer myself). The sponsorships awarded range anywhere from $500 - $25,000 (mine technically over a 1 year period is around $2,000 I think tho I'd need to ask to be sure, plus some free parts so really its more) One other thing the site is only accepting applications June 1st to June 30th so you may want to do that soon if you are interested in that. One thing you need to know about sponsorships is it's first come basis a lot of it and it also has a lot to do with timing and luck.I hope that sort of explains what I did and hope you guys can get a sponsorship as well if you go for one. If you got more questions just ask. Oh and btw if you are really ambitious you can get more than one sponsorship

LOL! so i get an email today saying i got sponsored by decals.com! $625 in vouchers for.... you guessed it! GRAPHICS!!!! i have to put on 2 stickers w/ their names on it and i get to chose which body graphics i want. that would be very cool if i really really wanted body graphics! go figure. oh well, if they have a nice looking red and silver pin striping, i will go for that. simple and not too crazy! i have to take pics of it on my car too.

I'd like to get sponsored but I'm not looking for a graphics kit... body kit and performance is what I'd want to get sponsored for. Guess I'll hold off right now.

Wow that is sucky, some of the stuff isn't that bad looking I suppose my friend got one of the performance part sponsors (maybe its cause he had the "import" matrix) bah thats crappy. At least for me I get my sponsorship in $$$ which means I can buy anything I want If you don't want to pay contact them and ask for a refund? Then make a "proposal" like I was saying and send it to a national parts dealer or go find some place around town. One thing is as the spokesmen for GReddy explained, is that it has to be mailed and usually they want some pictures of your car. Here is the actual email they sent me a while ago..."Thank you for your interest in GReddy Performance Products. We do not accept any proposals by e-mail. Please follow the below information for us to accept your proposal:A sponsorship proposal should include several key criteria for serious consideration:* Your compete contact information (you would be surprised at how many people leave this out) * A brief introduction of yourself and/or your company or team * Vehicle make, model and year * Vehicle engine combination, including hybrid set-ups * Aftermarket products currently on your vehicle * GReddy Products currently on your vehicle * Aftermarket products planned to be added to your vehicle * Current sponsors (Ideally they should be non-conflicting to GReddy) * Photos of the vehicle (engine, front, profile and overall, including any applicable detail images) * List of past projects and referrals * Event attendance schedule * Confirmed upcoming media coverage, including media contact information ** Request of what exactly you wish to obtain from GReddy. *** What you can offer GReddy in exchange for our support. (Also Stickers Size, Location) (driving around town with a sticker and telling your friends is not enough, sorry)The above-mentioned criteria should be presented in a professional, easy-to-follow format. We receive a large amount of proposals, so a professional presentation will ensure that your proposal is adequately reviewed. All proposals must be mailed, none are accepted by e-mail. This all must be mailed to our office:Attn: Marketing Dept. GReddy Performance Product Inc. 9 Vanderbilt Irvine, Ca. 92688Proposals and materials will not be returned. Do to the enormous amount of requests we get, we can only contact you if we are interested. Please understand we appreciate your effort and hope for success in your project, but we have a limited budget for sponsorship and the competition is very tough. Thank you."I hope that helps a bit and definitely if you don't want any of the decal things they have then email them and tell them you either want a better sponsor or you want your money back

ugh! no way! i wouldn't cover up my custom red interior... it's metallic garnet red mica (came on the ford explorer). is it ever beautiful in the sun! i'm just not a huge body graphics person... even if i have the gian genvibe.com banner on my windshield!

(removed) nooooo Ford Explorer I hate that car!!! I used to have one and holy crap one of the most garbagy cars I've ever driven!I can't believe you used Ford's paint gaaaah sajkhdsijfdser anyway, I think a carbon fiber look on the inside would be sweet would make it look more race inspired in m opinion, but that is if you can cut the stuff to look like it is the actual thing you are putting it on. If the cut out doesn't fit then that certainly would look bad
