Body kit

Yeah I realize this doesn't have anything to do with the engine but hardly anyone looks in the exterior body section besides you guys always have useful input. Any idea if there are any body kits for the Vibe yet beside the extensions that GM sells now? They just don't do it for me I know they have like one or two for the matrix, but neither of them are great

There is a picture around here of a Vibe with a Mazda Protoge bodykit owners said little modification was made to make it fit and I think it looks awesome!

yeah that is a pretty bad (removed) look for the front but what he described isn't quite "minor" modifications lol have to cut the orignal bumper in half and use different parts of it, then securely bolt the two seperte bumpers together (body kit and whatever remained of the stock vibes er voltz) then get some fiber glass work done so that the bumpers don't look like are two seperate pieces sort of hanging onBut it does look good. Why can't they just make some real body kits specifically for the vibe already lol and while their at it VIS racing should make some better carbon fiber hoods like the Evo stlye or Xtreme GT

Because it's an American car, and American cars are reserved for soccer moms and old farts, that don't care about cars...or atleast that's how it seems people think of them now.I honestly think the only way we will ever get a descent body kit for the Vibe is if one of us designs and builds them and their molds to sell. I have access to powerful computers, Auto CAD and Autodesk Inventor so maybe I'll give a shot at a design of some kind. I don't have alot of experience yet but no one else has attempted a true fitting design so it's worth a shot right? It would help if someone could give me demension blueprints of the stock bumpers so I do not have to try and measure them inaccurately.

Sounds like a plan if you can get a hold of someone who is willing to setup a plastic or fiber glass production or manufacturing line. I for one don't have the kind of capital to go out and buy machines like that lol but wouldn't that be nice? Maybe if you can design a decent body kit and we send a list of the GenVibe people willing to buy the body kit we could get enough support that the company that agrees to produce that kit for us will make enough money to cover costs plus some additional profit. So if we can set something like that up it is entirely possible.

There's another post with a link to a performance website. Viewers were voting between different cars as to which one they would like a body kit for, and last I saw Vibe was just ahead of the RSX's. I'll look for the post if I can find it.

Das whack bish!!! lol maybe we shoudl start writing letter with lists of people wanting to buy the body kits then they will make it, think we could get it to work?

I think the list thing might work for getting a body kit made, other than the way over priced gm kit, I just need a front and rear now My rockers came today, got them off e-bay for 150.00 some asshead messed with my bid a brought it to my max then wimped out, so goes the e-bay market.

Well, in that case maybe we should start taking a list of people's names (those who like to buy a body kit if it was made) which we can send to a few places that make and distribute body kits

I want one, but I have a two-tone so it would be alot more for me to replace the plastic pieces. I probably wouldn't be able to get one

The Scion was built with customization in mind. It's purpose is to become unique to the owner. That's why there's SO many parts already. Plus, they're huge in Japan. The Volts/Vibe didn't do so well over there, hence the lack of aftermarket support here. Something will come soon. Just gotta be patient. It was the same way the Sunfire/Cavalier for the longest time. Now there's TONS of kits...All that being sad, do you really want to add all that plastic to your car? Not really my thing I guess. However, there are some VERY clean and subtle kits for the VW Golf/Euro crowd. I think a style like this would like nice on the vibe, but as far as the transformer looking, just got dragged through a plastic factory, huge snow plow scoop, wide-mouth body kits.....nah.

personally, i like being able to run over a pebble without scraping my front end. while some kits look nice, i rarely find that the result is worth the effort or the scrapes.

I'd have to agree...taht kit the one guy has for his Voltz is really nice...I don't particularly like the child swallowing bumpers either. I used to but I like the low-clean look now. I think if I were to lower mine it would look just fine. All I want is one of those roofrack removal kits if they are produced.

All I want is for the nose of the car not too look so needle thin, it's somewhat disproportional because of how it slopes. So I was hoping that having some kind of front extension would make the car look a bit more balanced. Also Drunk if you don't want a body kit you would probably also never lower your car right?so you guys think something like this is a "child eater"
http://store3.yimg.com/I/ntnsracing_1784_3656570cause I think that body kit is perfect, not over the top but still looks niceQuote »The Scion was built with customization in mind. They are hella ugly who in their right mind would buy one!? Whats even worst the ugliest of the lot, the xB, has the highest sales!!!

Ya, I've driven a TRD-equipped Xb. They're not for everyone. but definitely unique. I'm impressed that a company is finally realizing that people want their cars to be about who they are. It's quite brilliant. Have you seen the TC yet? This is gonna be a car to reckon with once the parts start flowing! As far as the Celica bodykit you posted, looks like it would work well as a snow plow...which is exactly what you'd be doing with it in WA...

It hardly ever snows in Seattle lol rarely gets cold enough most of the winter it stays above 32. If I were drving thru the cascades it might be a good snow plow but I don't drive up there much. If we get bad weather the full extent is heavy rain and mild thunder, most of the time our weather consists of mild temperature around 38 in winter and like 79 in summerand yes I have seen the tC its not too bad, cool that it comes with a supercharger and 17's in addition to being fast, but I doubt its going to sell as many as the xB and xA

My bad on the climate thing...in that case the bodykit will help you part the waters!I think the TC will be quite the seller. Inexpensive, stylish car with a huge upcoming aftermarket.

hey cool! welcome to genvibe, bignick! they is only one body kit available and that's the GM one. no the trix kits will not fit our vibes. you'd have to do some work to convert it. what kinda vibe you have?so how long have you been in england? i went to lakenheath elem school from 3-5th grade when my father was stationed at mildenhall. we lived in new market in the military housing that backed up the stud farms.... was very cool.
