anyone figured out how to put a real ash tray in my new vibe?just bought it 2 weeks ago.

Welcome to GenVibe! Sorry, not a smoker here so I don't have any tips for you as far as an ash tray goes.

The ashtray goes in one of the cupholders next to the parking brake handle.

sorry. don't smoke either.... and if i did, i wouldn't be in my new car. something about the new car smell... but i'm sure one of the smokers here can tell you what they do. welcome to genvibe!

I just roll the window down...

Well, I haven't had a smoke in about a month now...., and I tried not to smoke in the Vibe, but when I did, I kept a used Coke bottle with a little water, or coke backwash in it to snuff the butts out. I know it sounds gross, but I don't agree with tossing a lit (removed) out the window, the (removed) is extinguished in the bottle with the water and sealed up so it doesn't stink up the car like an overflowing ashtray will.It looks gross, so I kept it under the seat when not in use.I also installed a set of ventvisors which are great for flicking your ash out the window (not the (removed), but the ash), especially when it's raining. I always kept the window cracked open which evacuates the smoke all the better.Can you tell I like to smoke? I quit last year for about about a month, but started up again. I've quit this time for about a month again, but I think I can do it for good this time. I hope.

Or you didn't pony up the dough for the "smoker's package"?I really don't think there's a place in the Vibe to "install" one. Maybe in the little sunglass holder compartment area to the left of the steering wheel, but then it's not really accessible for the passenger.The other option is the compartment underneath the shifter.I don't smoke so, my ashtray (which was standard equipment on the '03) is a candy dish.

I have a ashtray that has never been used, It just collect's dust in the glove box.If the price was right I would sell it. lol

Ashtray??And to think all this time I've been using it to hold my money for the turnpike. I figured the designers thought two coin holders weren't enough and thought to give us all a LARGE coin holder.Got mine for free since I've got the 2003 model, it's actually quite handy.Ok...so I did know it was supposed to be an ashtray, but I don't smoke so I gotta do something with it.

There is a black ash tray that goes in one of the cup holders. It has a lid on it to close it. They are available from Pontiac. I was going to get one just to keep change and misc stuff in, but have not got around to it yet. I *think* they are pictured on the Pontiac Vib Web Site. I am sure Pontiac has them in stock and I'd bet they do not cost much.Jeff

so, they moved backwards from '03 to '04 concerning the smoking??my '03 has the green ring and the lighter and came with the ashtray, but it is now in use in my house
