An engine cover would surprisingly cover the engine. There is a small black engine cover attached to the cylinder head that says "VVT-i" or "VVTL-i" on it but that wouldn't stop you from installing your rice-lights.To remove the hood insulation you need the following tool: your handsThere are a bunch of round, black plastic tabs about the size of quarters that hold the hood insulation to the underside of the hood. They just push in (and pull out) by hand. Remove them all or just enough to get access to the washers.

I dont think they are even legal down here in SC. And while I also dont like how the lights look...thats your own choice. Making yer car unique is cool...so do what you want. Me? I'm putting Christmas lights in mine come December so its kinda the same....

Where can I go to purchase things such as the washer lights, taillamp lenses, or headlamp lenses?

Okay enough....if you wanted a car to customize, you should have purchased a Toyota Matrix...being Japanese they most likely have just as many mods for it as they have for any other Import. We are Pontiac Vibe (domestic CUV) owners....its a new car for 2003 (and we are still in 2002)....give it time! Plus, why would you want clear lenses on a Vibe? I mean, with the two-tone, it would look silly.

LOL I had to laugh when I was reading this because on my black car I have blue windshield washer lights mounted on the hood. I also have the valve stem lights that come on when the wheels rotate. Call me what you wish because I feel a flaming coming on but my wife and I like them. Plus it looks good on the black car. Well that's only our opinion.

That's why it's called customizing. You tweak the car to your personal tastes...what is silly to you might be really cool to others.

True, but then get the car that you can customize and stop whining if the aftermarket industry is not as fast as you would like it to be. Hey, I owned a Civic....yes, clear lenses and all, but with the Vibe (unless it is really exceptional), I am leaving it alone.

Amazing enough, I got the idea from another Vibe (the black one also) that I saw leaving Cincinnati...I thought it looked pretty neat!... But different strokes for different folks! But I still haven't put mine on!!!

I've got red washer lights on my vibe along with undercar neons, and I have to say it looks pretty sweet. I'm just having trouble getting pics up. The front under car neon is placed under the lower grill so it looks as if the vibe has an evil little grin with red peircing eyes. I don't go out to those little roadside shows where all the highschoolers gather together to show off their honda's, I do it because I think the car looks very good with them on. The washer lights were a pain to put in though, it just takes a while (and small hands) to put the hose on. The original washers have a little tab that you have to push in with a screw driver, then with a little jiggle they should come right out. Any questions just email me or post them (dragoneyed@hotmail.com). I enjoy working with electricity so I enjoy putting these things on, it's alot of fun. Thus I tell you to not listen to anybody else and do what you want to do. Have Fun.

I think the washer lights would be cool on the vibe. I'd like to find some blue ones. Clear Altezza type taillights would be cool also. I bought the car because I really liked the utility and features for the price and chose it over the Matrix because I feel that the Matrix is a bit funky looking. The fact that my Vibe has a Japanese twin was very appealing to me because of the aftermarket accessory potential. Can't wait to see what goodies they come up with for these vehicles!

So, I must be 18 and wear that stuff because I have a car thats lowered, loud dual flow 40's, 17" wheels, VERY loud stereo, Neons, Body kit, Mid wing, Tint, etc.? But no stickers all over my car. LoLMe, personally, dont like the windshield lights. They look good, but in PA, they are cop magnets. Only way to do it is to have them hooked to a switch so they can be turned on and off at any time, like neons.
