I've got rust !!!

I've just found 2 areas of rust. Both are under rubber seals. One is on the rear drivers side door sill (see photo) and the other is the rear hatch window. Two questions, who else is having this problem and can I expect the dealer to fix this(re: warranty)? My Vibe is almost 2 years old.

I don't.Because mine is a lease(thank god).So two more years and it's going back to the dealer. But I feel sorry for the guy who is going to buy it.

I took it to the dealer yesterday and they said no problem it is covered by warranty and they would give me a replacement vehicle while they fixed it. I was a little shocked, I didn't even have to put up a fight.

Tomorrow I'll definitely be calling the dealer about the rust I discovered on the hatch over the weekend...It isn't much, but certainly more than should be there. Looks like I caught it just in time - the spot isn't that big, and the car has almost 31,000 miles on it. Think I'll make 'em check other areas for rust while they have it in there.I never would have known to look for this if it weren't for this place... I'd recommend everyone pull your weatherstripping up and see what's going on under there before it's too late.I have a bad feeling that a decade from now, the Vibe will look as bad as a early 90's Corolla/Prizm does now. See quite a few of them rusted to pieces, even down here with the relatively mild winters. Body panels falling off, but hey - the engine still works.

Getting the rust taken care of tomorrow... They guy who is doing it also does paintless dent removal, so I'll get a couple dents popped out too - for free. Can't beat that!

Before I bought my vibe this year, I drove a 1990 Geo Prizm for 9 years. Yes, it was ugly, but the paint job actually lasted really well. The original paint had a clearcoat, and when I sold the 18 year old car, the only rust was in one or two scrapes in the paint. Overall, I'd say the paint job on the old Prizm was of higher quality than the new Vibe! And yes, everything eventually fell apart: buttons, locks, even the effing door handles. But after 180,000 miles on the Prizm, the engine was still running strong. It was enough to convince me to come back for more.
