I live about 100 yards from Lake Marie on the Chain O' Lakes, and several of the lakefront homes down the street are now "lake property" instead of "lakefront property" heh. Trying to get to work in Gurnee has been quite an adventure as well. Lucky me I work on the west side of I-94, but the traffic is unbelievable.

Yes, isn't this rain something. My company is located right on the Des Plaines River by Des Plaines and they are out there sandbagging the building as I type this. It is going to be very interesting to see what happens. They predict the river will crest here at over 11 feet over flood stage by Thursday.

I finally was able to get caught up yesterday with the water that was in the crawlspace underneath my house. The sump pump died Saturday trying to keep up.Luckily, my next door neighbor had a portable sump pump he loaned me. Had over 8 inches of water under there. Will probably have more to pump out today when I get home thanks to the rain last night.

well, at first i was happy, because i had tons of bird crap on my car. now, however, it's getting old. i got home from work yesterday at 4:30, and then slept until 8:00! we had a tease of sunshine eariler today, only to be re-disappointed when the rain returned within 1/2 hour.

I dunno, I've been REALLY lucky. We've been under severe thunderstorm warnings almost daily for the last two weeks, but we've yet to get a storm...a couple rumbles of thunder, but nothing more. It rained last night for the first time in weeks...and not for long...Seems like the counties all around us had floods, hail, lightning deaths, tornadoes even, but there's a little bubble of no-rain around my house...

We had tornado warnings last weekend. Luckily, nothing touched down. It's warm out now, not a cloud in the sky!!!

This is killing the riverfishing. My normal fishing hole (excellent for large mouth bass and smallies) is up 15 feet as of yesterday.
