Moving to Orlando

Whats up, Floridians? I'm defecting the tropical state of Ohio for a government job in Orlando. Since this job pays much more than my current job, "College Drunk", I'm going to start throwing some more money at the vibe later this summer. I won't be making it to the June 5 meet, but I'll certainly make the next one. I'm just wondering who's in central florida to help with springs, ground wires, hitch install and anything else I can afford. Also, I know nothing about orlando and am house/condo/apartment/townhouse/mansion/tropical villa hunting. What areas are good, bad, cheap, expensive, fun, boring, congested, remote, etc. Thanks in advance for the info guys and girls. I look forward to my vibe getting some sun!

Congrats on your move. I was planning on moving to Orlando area by next spring (school). Ok from what I know about Orlando is that depending where your job is located there, you want to live south of your work. The reason is (I was told by the school) the traffic flow from north to south is worse than south to north. So you will have less headaches from traffic living south of your job.

Welcome to Florida, and I can agree, traffic is bad anywhere you go, unless it's 2am. We have two local Matrix/Vibe members here in Orlando. Myself and Elliott, so if you want to hang out some time just let us know. Hope to see you at the next club meet. Laterz

Thanks for the welcomes, all. I look forward to getting together and knocking back a few at the next meet. Until then, anyone know what i should look for in a condo in the orlando and how much i should be willing to spend for a good one? I have no idea what real estate is like in that area.

you live in longwood, huh? I'm currently looking to buy in longwood or lake mary. I work in lake mary but prices are higher. We'll have to throw a meet up our way sometime.

Just moved from Orlando area, i live in Gainesville now. Stay awa from pine hills and metro area and you should be fine. Orlando has a good show of imports and domestics on saturday nights at like 11pm on state road 50 downtown. you'll have fun.

Well, I'm finally here! after 6 months of paperwork, business travel, and red tape, I'm now an orlando resident. I put an offer on a house in Oviedo. We're gonna have to break it in with a meet and possibly an install here within the coming months.
