I installed a Kenwood wOOx mini-sub. Cost from Crutchfield is $219. I ebayed mine for $190.Do a search for "wOOX" or look in the recent topics under the audio section for my install pics.Hope this helps! BTW, I am very pleased with it, but it is not for hardcore bass addicts.

I agree, what's affordable? You can get something like the w00x or a decent Bazooka tube for $200. If you want more than that, you'll probably be looking at least $300. Give us a price, and we'll give you some reccomendations!

Um, i use two 12" MTX's (Thunder 6000's) and i like them very much, not too great on SQ -- partially my amps fault. One of these subs can be found for about 120 or less since they are last years model. They handle 250 watts RMS, so a good 2-Channel Amp bridged into one will provede best value, and then a box form your local retailer. Rockford Fostgates are also a good buy when it comes too subs. Also a loaded sub-box is not a bad value -- Infinity make one, Kenwood and there are of course the bass tubes, but have never heard one in an actual car. I recommend looking at crutchfileds website (
www.crutchfield.com) and then find the parts cheaper. Just my opinions.

I bought my sub and amp at Sounddomain.com. I got a 12" sub in a Rockford poted box and a 200-watt amp w/wiring kit for about $250 shipped. I bought my sub as an open-box item (it was returned, but still had the factory warrenty). I saved about $60 on it and the only thing wrong with it was a small (nickle-sized) dirty spot on the front edge. You can't even see it when its in the car. I also bought last years model of the amp which saved another $30. It was the same specs as the current model, just the housing was slightly different.Just keep checking around and you can find some good deals.

Are you looking for a sub to give better music quality (Fuller sound) or one to give hardcore bass? the wOOx is a mini powered sub that you would slide under a seat, and does sound good, but honestly is too expensive for what it does IMO. If you just want some basic bass then I'd go with a 12, for a high/punchy type of bass a pair of 10's would work, and for low rumbling bass, 15's are great. Let us know what you're looking for and how much you'd like to spend (Remember that you'll most likely need to buy an amp as well unless it's a powered sub).
