Brake noises in wet conditions

just got back from a long road trip this weekend. had some weird noises during braking. occasionally with moderate braking, a groaning sound would come from the left front wheel along with a coarse feeling in the brake pedal. very similar to the feeling if a vehicle has been sitting for a while before driving or when the brake pad material is completely worn away (but with out the grinding sound). It only seemed to happen when it was raining. Any thoughts before I bring it to the dealer and let them think i am truly crazy with phantom problems...just turned over 10k miles, whoo hoo!BobMono Shadow Vibe GT

Did you drive into any large puddles? Rapid heating and cooling of the brake components isn't good and may lead to premature warping of the rotors.

no large puddles just the rain on the road. it definitely didn't feel like the rotors are warped - too high of a frequency pulsing/groan if you could call it that. And the brakes feel fine when dry. Also, the condition did not return if I let up on the brakes briefly then apply brake pressure again.

Well if you feel it is not normal, I would take it in and have it checked out. I have driven my Vibe some rainy conditions and have not experienced the problem you are describing.Doesn't hurt to have it checked out under warranty. If you do, let us know what they find out, if something is wrong.
