Got a question

Ok, so i just got the car last week.. First time i wash it thru the auto car wash, damn moonroof leaks.. Not surprised and not really concerned since it all drains anyway, but I was wondering if maybe there were some way i could add some rubber weather stripping to the inside rim of the vibe's roof itself, like maybe the P-style weather stripping for windows and doors.. Its narrow enough to not overhang the rim and i would think it would add enough of a seal to compensate for the less than stellar one on the moonroof already. What do you guys think? Or should I just leave it alone and whine to the dealer?

I vote for the whine to dealer, at least as a first step.

I also vote for whine. It shouldn't leak. If your windshield leaked, you'd definitely be PO'd. No difference in my mind.

Go whine to the dealer. My moonroof leaked pretty bad when running it through the car wash when I first got it. It also had a bit of water running in when it would rain. The dealer made some sort of adjustment and it has been OK since. You will see a few drops coming in from the right corner when at the car wash, but that's about it. The water goes down into the channel toward the drain, so it's not too big of a deal to me.See if they can adjust it a bit, and make sure it is draining if anything does enter the inside, and you should be OK. From what I gather, they can't make it 100% leak proof, the molding around the glass needs to allow for some flexing of the body that normally occurs when you're driving.

Well don't go whining to the dealer lol just go in there and explain your problem. Its either a plugged drain or a seal thats not installed properly. Should be easy to fix without needing to sound like a child about it.

As a service advisor for GM at a dealership, I would love some WINE but hate WHINE.

I was worried about this too, but it turns out, if this makes sense. It is by design.
