No piggyback except the unichip will work on a 2zz. The gains are as big as they can be and it takes something as powerful as the unichip to make it work. Jet chips kinda suck anyway. Our ecu compensates other less layered chips back to stock settings. You can pay some less for a chip that doesn't work or get a unichip and get more torque where this motor needs it most. It's the only mod that gains you power below 3500 rpm and there are gains at every rev point, just more gain below lift. For drag racing there are much more cost effective mods even though the unichip would help them be even more effective. For a daily driver or autocrosser the unichip is all good but a bit costly.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)

here is a quote from Unichip. Justin,Thanks for the inquiry. A complete pre-programmed Vibe Plug-n-Play kit is $715 + S&H. If you choose to order a kit, we'll need to know what modifications you have to the engine/intak/exhaust and if you want a pre-programmed kit or a zero-map kit for custom tuning (the ZM option costs $100 less, but the custom tune costs $150-$200).Please let me know if I can answer any addtional quesitons.

here is a quote from JET.We do have an ECU upgrade available for your application. The ECU upgradedoes require that the factory ECU be sent to us for modification. You mustpurchase the upgrade package before sending the ECU to us for themodification. Suggested retail is $399.00, and the part number is 65002. TheECU upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all themodifications you intend on doing before you get the ECU upgraded. That waythe program can be set up for the specific modifications. Hp gains would bedependant on the extent of modifications.

the prob w/ the jet chip (from my understanding) is not only do you have to send your entire ECU into them, but if you need to reset your computer, you have to send it to them again so they can re-program it. not as simple as the unichip plug n play. plus, i've heard that the jet chips suck and you really don't get much.... in that case, you could prob get one of those cheap crap chips off ebay for far less. i can tell you w/ my unichip, i can feel a big difference in low end torque. much more oomph when i hit the gas in 2nd and 3rd gear. i paid about $100 or so less than that for mine when they first came out. if you want a chip, then i'd go w/ a plug n play system, maybe not the unichip, but def wouldn't waste my money on the jet chip. just my $.02.
Back to the subject of the thing on ebay... basically it is only a resistor which you could actually go buy at radioshack and what it does it offset fuel injection timings and amounts making the engine inject more fuel essentially (it basically attaches to ports by the ECU or intake chip I can't remember which). This can be decent for HP gain if you do it right, my friend and I did this to his matrix a while back (hehe didn't dare doing this on my car without a test ) the gain for him was roughly 20 hp which is obsurd since we went to radioshack and bought everyhting we needed for under $5 hehe.
