I'm still running my stock continentals and appear to be the exception because mine are holding up really well. I am getting close to the wear bars though, and may even replace them this weekend. Since every one else had such bad luck with these tires, I was wondering who got the most miles out of the stock Continental tires?I hit 45,000 miles on mine today. And you thought the street racers were the daredevils around here

I just replaced mine at 35,555 so that I could have the dealer check the rattles, vibrations, and noises (they thought that a bearing might be bad). When I took it back to a different dealer after the new tires, they rebalanced the brand new tires and told me that was the problem. Have you decided what tires you want? I went with Kelly Navigator Gold. I can tell that I gave up some grip in cornering (like the exit ramp that is posted at 35mph that I used to take at 60), but they are 70k mile tires and they should save me next winter.

When I put on my 18s almost two weeks ago, my Continentals were getting close to the tread wear bars. I probably still had a few more thousand miles to go, but I was around 28k miles when I replaced them.Later,

When I put my winter tire last fall, the front tires was almost at the wear bar while the rear was in good shape. My Vibe had only 12 000km (7 500 miles)...I'll be ok for the next summer but next year I'll have to remplace those pieces of crappy rubber.

WOW! That's not many miles at all. I rotated my tires about every 7k miles. So some people are getting terrible life out of them and others are getting so-so to average.

Some of you folks are doing pretty well w/ your conti's ....mine were dead at 16,000 miles of 80-90mph highway driving. I was not happy....bought the Kumho (low-tread life) summer tires and got 26k out of them w/ harder driving and some autocross racing too.....seems the long-life touring tires should have been the ones to last longer but it was the other way round.

I replaced mine at 30,000 miles. May have had a couple more miles left on them, but not much. Driving in the snow this last winter with the worn out Conti's was down right dangerous. I put on 225/50/16 Visa's (cheap Falken) on my 16 x 7 aluminum wheels. Car drives much better.

I didn't have any problem with the Contis, but enough other people have that I would have stayed away from them. These were supposed to be good for wet traction, and the high mileage rating is good for the number of miles I put on.

I replaced mine at 72,000 km (sorry, I don't know what that is in miles). They were badly cupped, because I didn't rotate them until 30,000 km, then every 10,000 km thereafter (as recommended). There were totally down to the wear bars.

Mine would have made it to 30k mi. Pulled them at 26k. I'm going to replace them before I put those wheels back on for winter.

I only have 13000 km on my tires, and the front ones are done. my local dealer is in the prossess of getting me new tires and Continental's expence. My I also point out that these tires such in the winter. love everything else about the car though.

I only got about 25,000 miles out of the stock Continentals on my 2003 Vibe GT. I had them replaced in the middle of my trip to Washington with some Bridgestone high performance all-season tires that I've been very happy with. The specific tire escapes me, and I don't have the car right now. I left it with the dealer to swap stereos with my new car. I may write the tire type down tomorrow, when I double check to make sure I didn't leave anything in my old car. After nearly 12,000 miles on my Bridgestones, they haven't lost but maybe 15% of the tread. Plus they grip better, to boot.

well honestly mine where near wear bars at around 20,000miles.We"squeeked"(my brakes)it out to 30000 and got em replaced at the GM dealer today with cooper lifeliners.He swears by em and the company I work for uses em as fleet tires.As long as they last longer then the continental's I will be happy...

wow joat that's impressive I know there not the conti's but I just replaced my RS-As with Fuzion HRi's. My RS-As had about 46k on them

The vehicle was awful in snow, and hydroplaned on standing water. My daughter just got her license, and I did not want her to lose control because of the tires.

my old man's G6 is just over 40k miles and he has to replace his stock contis. i threatened him that he better not let them put the same tires back on. for once, he listened to me, and he's getting goodyears instead.

I just got my 2006 Vibe with about 13,750 miles. It had OEM Goodyear Eagle tires that I immediately replaced (I also got an alignment) since the fronts were down to about 3/32", though with no cupping . The previous owner had evidentially never done a rotation, since the rears were still around 7/32" (I kept them and have them listed in the for sale section if anyone is interested).I am curious... Is everyone following the owners manual's "same side" rotation recommendation? This is my first car that did not recommend a crossover to the rear. Anyone with any ideas about why this is?
