So I was at the GM proving grounds today running a few tests, and I got to spend a little time with some of the new vehicles that will be coming out soon.I got to see the Solstice, Saab 9-2, and the Pontiac G6. I also got to look at the Ion Red-Line. These cars are all really sweet, and I will own one of those G6's when they offer the convertible in a year or 2

You have to have the greatest job in the world. Just curious, how did you get it?

Just curious, how did you get it?I spend $20,000 dollars a year, and sacrificed a real college life to go to a private university that specializes in Engineering. I got hired in at GM as a co-op my freshman year for mechanical engineering, and now I work with the Validation group this semester. I go to Kettering University, formerly GMI (General Motors Institute). It was orginally founded by GM a long long time ago, and now it's just a private university no longer just affiliated with GM. It's really a good school, and we are nationally ranked in the top 10 for almost every field we offer, so it's pretty cool. I just have to go to Michigan State on the weekends if I want to have a lot of fun.I'm in my senior year now, and I've got about 1 year left since it's a 5 year program. I've got to write my thesis still also, but hopefully when I graduate I will get hired into the validation group, because the work is a lot of fun.

I had a high school friend who went to GMI in 1971. He's probably dead or retired by now!Congrats. Sounds like an exciting career choice.
