Wet Floor

OK, I have no clue how the water is getting there but the passenger side floor of my car is wet. Front and back. It's been wet for 2 weeks now and I think if something got it wet, it would have dried by now. The only thing I can think of is that the moonroof is leaking but I have not seen anything dripping through it, you would think with all the rain and taking in through the carwash that I would at least see one or two drops. Any answers on this would be a great help, I plan on taking it to the dealer for a warranty repair if it is in fact a warranty repair problem.

Just a guess, but it may be backup from the A/C drainage. A friend of mine used to have an old corolla that would soak the floor on the passenger side when he would run the A/C on high for a while. something about the tube that exits onto the ground being plugged and the built up condensation on the A/C coils drained back into the car.

Also could be the cowl drains backing up...clean any debris from below the windshield, and maybe even remove the vent covers and see if tehre is pollen or anything causing it to not drain properly...Also, could be a leak or crack in your washer fluid hose for the rear windshield...that comes in through the firewall behind the glovebox, then snakes it's way to the back of the car along the passenger-side running boards...Does it smell like washer fluid?

I watertest GM trucks and leaks can come from a number of places. I would take it in to the dealer and let them watertest it. the suggestions above are very good and could be any of them. just by what you said I could believe that its the A/C, but water in the back passenger side? thats got to be alot of water. "IF" you want to check it out yourself just remove the sill plate and kick pad on the right side pull the carpet back by the front firewall and go to a power wash or have a friend or spouse run water over the front and right side of the car to see if you can see a leak. if it does leak you can then tell the dealer. hope this helps

Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't think it's washer fluid. I will just take it to the dealership, they can find out where the leak is coming from.

Guys, for anyone else having this problem -- duct tape the moonroof, and your problem will magically disappear.
I, too, thought if it was the moonroof, I would see it around the edges of the moonroof in heavy rain -- not slushing around on the back floor.
But it doesn't directly leak from the moonroof -- it collects and a hose is supposed to take it elsewhere, and that is where it leaks (or is clogged).
Either way, use duct tape for a very simple process of elimination.

Where did you put the tape?

As I recall, there are 4 drains in the sunroof. One of them is most likely clogged and probably right at the top where you could reach in and pick it out.
