Since I drive a GT, I normally only pay attention to 93-octane prices.I got a tank at $2.10/gal a few days ago. Most stations are at $2.20 or higher for premium around here now though.

You can blame the price of crude going up to over $35/bbl. But, in the long run, it'll be better for the environment as people have more incentive to NOT buy those massive SUV's to drive around 2 people at a time.

Yeah, gas took another big leap here as well. I was feeling pretty smug, having filled up on the way into Regina for a great 82.9 considering that gas was 85.9 in Regina. Then, in the time it took for a marathon shopping session at Canadian Tire, all the stations were at 89.9. Gas has never been that high here!

I paid $1.99 a gallon for 93 octane at Sams Club last night. On the way there I was seeing prices anywhere from $2.05 to $2.17!

I'm glad I own a base Vibe... these prices would kill on premium gas. As it is to fill my tank from 1/3 to full cost me $32. Usually only costs about $25...

Look on the bright side, Arcs: Now that the cost is about to cross into 3 digit territory, they'll have to stop tacking that irritating and insulting "...point nine" onto the end of the price.

We really should do something to protest these increases! _______Well, you can start by blaming the (first) George Bush administration for capping wells in this country and shutting down refineries; a policy continued by the last two presidents. The current problem is not oil supplies; it is because there are not enough refineries in the US to refine gasoline. Secondly, our fine environmentally conscience friends who drive big SUVs has driven up demand in the US way beyond our meager refineries' ability to produce gas. Coupled with the fact that there is likely to be civil war in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia in the coming years, and you and I will relish the days when our gas was only $2 per gallon. I'd take another look at the hybrids if I were you.....or invest in a very good bicycle!!
