Those are some AWESOME speakers! I had those in my last car. They are so crisp, clear, efficient, and loud! The only down side is they do not have a lot of bass. My Polk components which are the same size (6.5") have a noticeable amount of more bass. My brother drives my old car with my old system, and those speakers still sound awesome after the past 4-5 years. I added an 8" Bazooka tube for some nice solid bass to complete the system. I paid $100 from crutchfield back then.Later,

I have a Pioneer 10"sub for my bass. I guess then these speakers would be a nice addition to my system?After all I still have the stock speakers!Thanks JustinVGT!

Yes, definitely I would think they would be a great addition to your system. That price is great, just hopefully they are good as new.

Granted, you shouldn't really blast them right off the bat, but i've never heard of breaking them in..Polks are generally good speakers, no matter what. Especially for around $17. I think those were new at $99 or so. You can definitely get better speakers, but if these are in new condition with no problems with the surround, and no problem with the voice coil, it's not that bad of an investment.

Breaking in speakers is a debatable topic. When I bought my Athena home theater speakers, Athena said to break them in by playing the music only at a moderate volume for the first 100 hours. I did some research online and some people say that breaking them in does nothing and others swear by it. I was easy on my Athenas for the first 100 hours, but I don't really recall there being much of a difference. They say it breaks in the rubber surround and other moving parts, but if you think about it, at a moderate volume, the speaker is barely moving. I don't think I broke in my Polks many years ago, and they still sound great.

I have Always heard about breaking speakers in- in fact I noticed a big difference after my Eclipse subs broke in. And I believe Kicker recomends a ridiculous like 30 hour break in time for their solo baric subs

Interesting. I won't deny the theory is sound enough, but i've never heard anyone specifically say to do it..Not a bad idea though...

Polk Audio suggested a break-in period for the Polk/MOMO MM10 enclosure I have.
