Bad day for my families vechiles

I just got home this afternoon when I heard my Mom hit a parked car with my Dad's '99 GMC Serria truck. It left a large dent near the right wheel well but did not do much damage to the other vechile. My Mom felt pretty bad as Dad and I start making fun of the situation. A little while later a neighbor came over to inspect the damage to the truck. His jaw drop at the damage. While we were talking to him my dad was leaning against my 2004 Vibe near the left front wheel well. All of a sudden we hear a pop. Sure enough my Dad left a large dent in my car!!!! . My dad starting freaking because he could not believe he just did that. Well we took a toliet plunger to the car and got most of the dent out. There is still a small dent near the cladding of the wheel well. Most people would not even notice it but it will be one of those things that will sort of bother me. I guess I deserve what I got after making fun of my mom's situation. I guess that little dent will remind me of this day. Overall I guess the whole situation is pretty funny.

Wow that's too bad! It is a pretty sad comment on how durable the metal is that they use for the fenders. I don't know if they have them in your area, but we have paintless dent removal here which works great and doesn't cost all that much. I used them when our first van got door-dented about 2 weeks after we bought it by some dolt in a parking lot. They took the dent out in less than an hour and it cost about $75 which was worth it to me since I knew I would be mad everytime I saw it.

Lesson learned? never laugh about someone else's misfortunes while leaning on your own car least you got most of the dent out.

Well dont feel too bad you are not alone last night my bro was acting stupid and jumped on the hood of my car and dented it. Not a big dent like the lenght of the Vibe key not deep cant notice it unless you see the hood in a certain angle but like you said one of those things you cant forget.

Would you believe I've got pretty much EXACTLY the same dent?I was talking with a friend and had my back to the car, so leaned my (removed) up against the fender and heard the same POP.I also was only able to get it mostly out -- you can see where it was right near the cladding if you look close......I feel your pain.... what sucky lightweight metal......

The fender is real easy to remove. You probably could take it off and knock out the dent yourself...or push it out even...

just popping it out w/the plunger won't be a permanent fix. i popped my cavi's dent in that spot out, and when it got cold out, the dent came back over and over.

A while back, I leaned up against my car ever so lightly and heard that same pop! That hurts... It really doesn't take much to dent these things. Leaning up against the car put quite a large dent in the driver's side fender. It was higher than it was wide, started right above the cladding and continued about 3/4 of the way up the fender. Looked to me like the metal was creased. I didn't think a fix for that was possible.I talked to the paintless dent removal guy that works at the dealership... He thought he could do something with it, so I brought the car to him this morning and let him have at it. The other fender had two dents on it as well, thanks to the neighbor. 30 minutes later, the car was ready. Both fenders look as if they were never damaged. Let's just hope it stays that way.
