Vibe Meet in Texas...poll for possible locations

Haven't seen any discussion of setting up a Vibe Meet in Texas, so I thought I'd set up an informal poll to see who might be interested. I'm not saying that I (or anyone) is actually organizing anything, but maybe with enough interest, we can get one together. Besides, my Vibe won't really be broken in until a good road trip and I love drivin' in Texas! -GlennSorry for the incomplete poll; I posted before adding a few other cities (like Austin, San Antonio, Cut N Shoot ) Knock yerselves out and add some more!

Heck, I'll be up in Dallas a couple times over the summer... I'd consider it if one of the DFW folks would organize it (hint, hint there DD). -Glenn

Wow...8 votes total? That's pretty sad...guess there's just not that many Vibers in TX...or we're lazy. I still think a meet in a neutral location (i.e., not H-town or DFW) would be cool...like in Austin. Love driving in the Hill Country.

Anyone have one of those burnt orange 04's? if so, maybe we could have a little get-together at the red river rivalry this year. I'll even bring my Crimson Vibe along to brag......Because even if OU doesn't win a championship, everything is stll good as long as we beat Texas and OSU.

Looks like DFW has the votes so far. Okay, you folks up north: Got any places you can suggest for a meet? How about Texas Motor Speedway? http://www.texasmotorspeedway.comThere's a Goodguys Hotrod event there the first weekend in October.Hey, and I'm never too old to ride a rollercoaster:

Boy, those folks @ the Super Meet in Michigan got me jealous! Looks like a great time was had by all. If we ever have a regional meet like that down here, we'll have to wait until 1) the weather cools a bit and 2) it stops friggin' raining! Houston is about 15" over average for the year so far....I wonder if there are any Pontiac dealerships in the DFW area that might be willing to help sponsor something like the Super Meet. If it was in October or November, that might give us time to find one. (might give me time to have my springs and CAI installed too!).

Sounds good to me.... we just need a place and a time... and a sponser would be nice... I am sure a dealership would be willing to do that.. that always good PR for a dealership... they could advertise locally and stuff... well.. let me know..

Well, I was just startin' to get used to the idea of a meet in the DFW area, but since no one's planning anything yet, I'll call up a couple of Houston-area dealers to see if they might be interested. It would help if any GM/Pontiac-affiliated members here could point me in the right direction (ex. contacts). Like I mentioned earlier, I think Oct-Nov would be best.

I might be able to hook something up at a dealership in Waxahachie... Its about 25-30 minutes south of Dallas on Hwy 35E. It would be closer for all you houston guys that would be coming up 45. You can cut right over from 45 to 287 to 35. I can look into it if you would like. Its a Pontiac/GMC/Buick Dealer. There's also a Dodge, Ford, and Chrysler (and all affiliated makes) Dealership next door. I would be more than willing to look into it for you guys! Let me know!

Waxahachie, or even as far south as maybe Waco, would rock.

So I kind of need to know what size this meet is going to be. So that the dealer can plan accordingly! For space for the cars, any demo models, advertisment, food... etc.

Wanna try to narrow down the date(s)? I'm good after Oct 15. It will probably just be me unless my wife wants to keep an eye on me! BTW, I checked with two Pontiac dealerships in Houston. One claims to be the top Pontiac volume dealership but has over a dozen Vibes mothballing in the lot...and no space available for a meet. The other (where I bought mine) was lukewarm; they'd host the space, but other than than that, they didn't seem interested in helping organize.

Hey guys, I live around the Lubbock area. I would love to go to a meet. My only problem, is that the rest of you guys are across the state and I don't really want to drive that far if at all possible. Just my two cents.

Sounds like DFW is your best option...certainly better than Houston.Anything happening in Lubbock -- or Abilene -- that would make us want to head out that way?

hello houston vibe owners, why dont you join a houston matrix meet? after all we share the same frame, engine, etc... and since we're already use to meeting, you guys wouldn't have to worry about setting anything up.

Try Sewell Pontiac in Dallas, if you're still looking at a DFW area meet - they're pretty gung-ho about customer service:

Ummmm, hate to admit it, but I think you hit that one on the head, bud_one. My excuse is that I've got a new job (yeah!), but not as much time. I've got a pile of performance mods I'm dyin' to make, but just haven't gotten 'round to them. Maybe we should have a "Winter Nationals" thing...

It's been almost a year since I started this thread and I say, let's do it! I could go for a trip to San Antone and I love the hill country. Lots of possible mini-road trips between San Antonio and Austin off of I-35. Anyone ever heard of the Devil's Backbone west of San Marcos? Beautiful drive.I wouldn't want to go too deep into summer, though. How's May look? We could shoot for Memorial Day weekend...
