Window Rattle

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem: My windows tend to shake (both sides) if it's opened half way down (or half way up) and being driven at highway speed w/ relatively high winds. I tend shaked the window and it appears to be loose. I haven't had a car that did this. Is this a common thing w/ the Vibe?

Mine does the same thing, especially on bumps. I thought it was normal, due to crappy roads, lowered suspension, and stock shocks/struts (Darn you aftermarket people!!!!!!!).

Usually my windows are either all the way up or all the way down. Every car I had before had windows that rattled when driving with them part way down.

I have an appointment with the dealer next week for this problem. I am wondering if the window "track" has something to do with this. I never had this problem with my 96 Cavalier but my sisters 96 Tercel had the same problem. The Toyota dealer ended up changing the window track. Will keep you all posted.

Thanks! Let us all know what the dealer did to fix that.

My windows shake as well... And if the windows are partially down, get a big CLUNK when closing the doors. All four have done that since the beginning.I'm interested to see what the fix is...

Sounds like you may have a problem. But it could also be the design of the car and the window itself. My old car would do that occasionally if the conditions were just right. The wind would slip over the window just like an airplane wing and the window would vibrate. I haven't had that problem with the Vibe itself yet, but I usually have the window all the way up or all the way down. Hope it gets fixed, I know all about those little annoyances.

I had my car into the dealer yesterday for this same problem along with many many more. He says he adjusted the top and bottom stops for the driver and passenger side windows. I forgot to check on the way home is see if it made a difference.
