well, for those of us who live in winter climate locations, it's time for tire season! for us alaskans in fairbanks and anchorage, we have til 5/1 to destud! so, i'm waiting for my g2 caliper paint to arrive on saturday and will promptly paint my calipers and change my wheels/tires back to the fugly factory 17's! still better than the 15" studs! who else has to change their tires back and do you have a tire changing season as well?

We have no specific date set by law. I believe Quebec is the only province that still allows studs. We got 2" inches of snow yesterday and I was unable to make it up to my place from the ski hill on my Falken summer tires. Next year I think I'll wait a little longer to change back. Two weeks ago I had a 6 hour drive in a blizzard which was very nerve wracking on the Falkens.

I just changed mine out the other day. It kind of sucked since I got my winter tires late in the season...it never really snowed more than 2 inches...so I got really no use out of them. I guess better safe than sorry tho. But now I have whatever tires my Vibe came with. We'll see how they drive when it rains. Hopefully it will be a smoother ride tho.

How do you store your other wheels? After checking out different websites, including tire manufacturers, this is what I do to store my other wheels:1. Clean the rims with Simple Green.2. Apply a coat of wax.3. Lower the tire pressure to 15 lbs.4. Make sure the tires are totally dry.5. Stack them on its side in a corner of the garage.6. Cover them up to keep them from direct sunlight.7. Make sure they stay dry, away from moisture, during the storage period.I'm interested in finding out what you guys do?TIA

I'm doing very similar to this...But I never look at what pressure I let them sit. I remove some air, that's all. Plus I do not clean and wax them, just brush them.

I haven't put on my all seasons yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks. I'm busy with condo renos and moving until then. April is a CRAZY month!

Again, I'm taking them off in a couple of weeks. I am too busy right now. We have to get the floor in my condo down and finish packing within 7 days. I barely have time to post to the forums here.

well, i usually store them in our shed. they lay all in a row.... and have for years. usually try and clean them up a bit. i have each in a plastic bag/cover. don't let the air out because in winter, it's so cold that they're almost flat. then when time to put them back on, i uncover, wipe em off and put them back on. pump up the air and i'm ready to go!was planning on changing them this weekend, but it's slushing (snow/rain) outside. guess it'll be next week! really want to paint my calipers! plus, this morning i noticed i'm missing the passenger lower grill! gone! the driver's was barely hanging there, so i had to snap it back in... now i gotta figure out what i'm gonna do since i have the billet grills.

Went swimming today (4/17) in 80 degree water in my pool. Amazing how in some areas it's still snowing and COLD!! Down south Texas, USA and lovin' it. Oh, by the way, we don't get snow here but it does hit 100 degrees in the summer.....

Nice! I really lusted after those factory 17's, but they didn't offer the moonroof, so I settled for my 16" alloys.Happy belated -genvibe- bday, by the way, I noticed you joined 367 days ago (apparently 4/24/03)Like your new avatar pic, too. Changed mine last week. I used the factory 16" AL wheels for the winter and wider summer only rubber now. I just stack them in a corner of the garage for 6 mo.

Studded tires are legal here in Nova Scotia from Nov 30 til April 30! I took mine off Easter Weekend. They are loud but they pulled me up my steep ice covered driveway no problem while the other tenants were spinning out daily.... This was my first winter with studs or any winter tire for that matter and I will never go winter without them again. They are ugly (black steel rims) and loud and expensive (to have two sets of wheels) but worth it all.....Regarding storage, mine just come off the car and sit in the garage for months til I put them back on. At the dealership I work we store our customer's tires (over 500 sets) and we do nothing special to store them other than mark them so we don't lose them!
