So I am new here and even newer to the little care hting. All of my previous auto were big a## trucks but with fuel prices the way they are I figure I needed a econo car. Got a smokin deal on an 03 GT last september and well all I can say is I am impressed. After driving it for six months and 23,000 miles i have few complaints. First I hate the beeping and the flasing lights. So yeah I don't wear my seatbelt and of cours I put it in reverse so why must I be reminded of this. Plese tell me I can cut some wires and get rid of these anoyances. Second, can I re wire the fog lights so that they come on only when the high beams are on. I found some off road spot lights that I think will fit in the stock fog spot and since I drive these desolate roads of Montana and all the animals are out to get me I would rather have som BRIGHT spot lights rather than the dinky fog lights. But honestly I do like the vibe and I love the 30 mpg @ 80 mph.

Then buckle up so you'll be around for a while!!! Hate to see you hit a moose on the road and then get decapitated when the airbag goes off!Stick around, check out all that the site has to offer, and by all means, ask lots of questions! You'll find that we're like a big family here, so pull up a chair (or driver's seat) and hang out with all of us. Welcome to GenVibe!

if you do a search you will find ways to disable the rear beeping noise! annoying ain't it? i disabled mine awhile ago because it drove me insane. i installed a little led light so i know when i'm in reverse. i also disabled the daytime running lights that come on and off too easy. still working on a way to make the fogs independant. i replaced my oem fogs w/ after market ones... actually they are driving lights. i know that one member, philindz, has installed driving lights in addition to the fogs. if the fogs are too weak, then consider replacing the crappy (removed) bulbs w/ something brighter like the silverstars... so, plenty of things to remedie your complaints so far. oh ya, welcome to genvibe! always good to have another GT member!

Welcome to GenVibe, fellow GTer! I am going to be disabling the DRLs this weekend as well. I see that you are from Billings, MT. There is another member here from the same city, he goes by millster. Definitely search the site for any questions or concerns you may have about your Vibe. This is the greatest resource for the Vibe on the web!

Welcome to the forum! If those are your biggest complaints about your Vibe, I don't think you will be looking to get rid of it anytime soon! I don't want to sound like a safety nanny, but you really should get in the habbit of buckling your seatbelt. It only takes one idiot out on the road to pull in front of you. If your seatbelt is off, it may change or end your life. Definately not worth it! You also must have a lot of extra cash with the increase in mileage you get now compared to those trucks. Especially with the recent surge in gas prices!

it's not really my secret, I just didn't want to act like it was me that came up with it. I did put a switch on it so I can turn them on and off. I should say that i meant the automatic lights on at night, not the drl's. sorry

well thanks for the warm welcome. as for the seat belt issue yeah I am a retard for not wearing one but i bought a vibe so I must not be that retarded DRL off would have been a great tip during christmas light season. so yeah I will definetly be looking for that tip.Amd the beeping has to go. I had a 6-speed PSD before this car and it has the exact same shift pattern so I ain't to concerned about screwing up my shifts. As for the fog lights I think I am going to try to fab som sort of plexi glass over the front of whatever i put in the stock hole cause so far I have had 3 new light assembilies due to rocks off the roads. Luckily i know a auto body guy that can get tem for a half way decent price>once again thanks for all the ehlp now and in the future
