I have 2 kicker comp 10's as you can tell by my signature, but I have them in a bandpass box, will I get more bass if I just put them in a normal box, or will the bass be overbearing?

Depends on what type of "bass" you are looking for....are you looking for the tight accurate kind or the sloppy, everybody in the hood can just hear the bass kind?

A good bandpass box built with your speakers spec would give you a 3db (double power) gain more then a ported enclosure. A ported enclosure already gives you around 3db more then a sealed box. A sealed box will takes less space, give you tighter bass but you will loose some power.The bandpass enclosure (if builter properly) give you the more loud bass then any other type of box.

Yes, you want a sealed box. For 10" Kicker Competitions, you need a box that has 1.0 Cubic feet per sub.Bandpass, as said before, is designed to give you the most "boom".. Sealed is going to give you the best as far as quality goes. Ported is somewhere in the middle.

My speaker box measures 3 X 1.5. I do need to switch around a few things first but I may just put a sealed inclosure in there.

I have a question too....I wonder if anyone can direct to the right person to talk too....I bought a 10 inch Infinity Bass Link (Sub & amp in one) and I wanted it installed....Everywhere I went no one would install it because they said something a bout the Vibe that if I install a speaker or amp without changing the head unit, it will short circuit & damage some chip that controls the interior lighting units (ect. dome lamp, dash lights, radio....) and it would be like about $2,000 to replace the chip...Is this true & if it is...What's up with that???Thanks....

I don;t see how that could be true.enough people have put in subs that you shouldn't worry about frying all the cars electronics.If a shop did install the sub in such a way as to put your lights and gauges at risk, you're better off finding someone else to install the sub because that shop wouldn't know what they were doing.

I had a competition system with my stock head unit for a good week or two before I changed over to the CDX-810X head unit.

Hehehehe....That's hilarious.....I prefer the latter sub.....Amazing technology isn't it???Oh yeah....Did anyone's front door component fried within the first 6 months....My six inched blew up for some reason so changed them to 6 inch pure component.....

The people that you went to obviously aren't aware that the Vibe is more of a Toyota than a GM. Pretty much ALL other '02+ GM Vehicles use the GM Databus, which is hellishly more finicky than the stock radio. However, the idea of it "short circuiting" is pure nonsense. I would advice staying away from these places until you find one that DOES know what they're talking about...
