Just took delivery on an Abyss 04 Vibe GT M/T!

It didnt take long for me to choose this car. A local GM dealer was willing to payoff my 02 Nissan Frontier. Great truck but it was killing me on gas. I made a committment to myself to get out of the high payments that the Frontier had me in. I test drove a Vibe GT to start. I liked the feel of the vehicle alot. I felt very much in control. Especially with the 6 speed tranny. I then drove a few used cars but I kept coming back to the Vibe. The dealer was really trying to get me to pay sticker. They said they had no room at all on the GT so I ended up walking out. Today, I get a call from the dealer telling me that there may be a chance I can get the car within my price range. We came to a reasonable number and I pulled the trigger on it. Here is what it is:2004 Abyss Vibe6 speed M/TMoons and Tunes packageFactory installed exhaust tip$17,900 deliveredI hope what I paid wasnt above to norm. I always try to get the best deal and I couldnt pass on the 2000.00 rebate. They also gave me a 500.00 gift card from GM. Pretty cool.One question I have is how many of you have the factory installed exhaust tip. Its a nice stainless steel tip but its pretty loud. It makes the car sound like a lawn mower. Well, Im glad I found this site. I hope to contribute alot.

let me be the first to welcome you! and that price isn't bad at all! i paid $22.5K for mine last year.. but no rebates and went w the financing...

welcome to genvibe I have the chrome tip but my CAI is louder so i don't notice the "lawnmower affect" LOL

the exhaust tip is just a tip. no diff in sound what so ever. just how the stock exhaust on the gt sounds like.

You got a GREAT deal by the sounds of it and hope you enjoy your Vibe as much as the rest of us are. I have the exhaust tip also but it does not make the car sound any louder. Its all a cosmetic appearance piece, actually just fits over the existing pipe. Looks very good though, fools people into thinking I got some ricer exhaust thing going on already.*edit*I need to type faster, people always beat me to the punch lol!CAI is next on my list, then we'll talk lawnmower.
