I felt I should start a new thread. A bunch of us will be staying at the following hotel, for those interested in staying wtih us and making a big 'ol party outta it.Marriott Courtyard Detroit Auburn Hills1296 Opdyke Road Auburn Hills, MI248-373-4100 I was able to book a room with a AAA/CAA rate of $80 a night! Standard rate is $84 a night.VibeChick, trdvibe, mavrik and myself all have confirmed reservations there. I recommend everyone who'd like to stay there with us make yours ASAP to be sure you all get a room!Hotel features FREE high-speed internet access in each room, and an indoor pool and whirlpool. An exercise room is also available for those who wish to maintain buff-ness. Approximate distances to:Fenton: 30.2 mi / 48.6 km (34 minutes)Utica: 13.8 mi / 22.3 km (19 minutes)Pontiac: 2.8 mi / 4.5 km (5 minutes)So seems well situated between night life and the meet!Remember: $84 sounds like a lot, but if you find a buddy (or two) to split a room, that brings it down to $42, or even $28 a night if you find two other buddies! A BARGAIN!Also, if you THINK you'll be coming but aren't sure, reserve a room. You can cancel up to the day of arrival without any penalties.

There was a Residence Inn in Flint that was around $75 a night...but I didn't see much lower than that...If you can find someone to room with, that'll bring it down!

best western in fenton $69 USD a night.this is right at the exit for joseph pontiac.i wouldnt stay at most of the places in flint, except for the holiday inn and the courtyard (both in gateway centre), or the residence inn on hill road. those 3 are pretty new and the area is good. the others are old and in shady areas. but, those 3 are probably going to be more than $84 a night.

Yeah, I do remember seeing that $69 rate now that you mention it...but we opted to stay in Auburn Hills because it put us about halfway between stuff to do and the meet...

Well for those of us who are a little strapped to pay $80 dollars a night, I found a motel called Grand Blanc Knights Inn. It is about 8 miles away from the dealership. If anybody knows of it and suggests that I should not stay there because the cockroachs will carry me away, and the fleas will steal my Vibe then let me know. It is like $45 dollars a night.

lava --post here or the main michigan thread. i'm sure you can find someone willing to split the room cost with you! most of us are doing that!

[QUOTE=I found a motel called Grand Blanc Knights Inn. .[/QUOTE]i can't comment on how clean it is, since i've never stayed there (it's about 4 miles from my house), but that area isn't crime-ridden like flint. if it's where i think it is, it's right at an off-ramp for US23, and the only other thing there is a speedway gas station.

I am staying at the Best Western in Fenton as well. Going to Auburn Hills would be too far, part or not. I'd rather save some miles on my car and be close to the dealership....Not to mention there is a car wash about 1/2 a mile from the hotel!!

Going off what you said Mike... I got my room reserved. Hope it's not too far of a drive to the meet or to the after-party (maybe it WILL be the after-party).
