Wind noise and cross winds

When driving my '03 Vibe in a strong crosswind, there is a LOT of wind noise coming from the driver side door. You can even put your fingers between the door and the weather stripping and feel the door moving in and out. I only notice it when the cross wind is hitting the passenger side of the car. If its hitting the driver's side there is no problem. No wind noise, no door movement. Has anybody else experienced this?

Yes. I have a lot of wind noise only from the drivers side. It's bad enough that once I have enough items on my list, I will have it checked at the dealer. '04 Vibe

It sounds like the door isn't adjusted properly. There is no play in my doors when they are closed, I don't notice any wind noise from crosswinds,I had some door gasket problems on the driver door, but I didn't notice any extra noise from it, but you might want to look at the weatherstrip/gasket. Got mine replaced under warranty

I have some wind noise but only with a strong cross wind. The Drivers door needs adjusting, take it in to the dealer, most likely they will pull in the window frame part of the door slightly. you won't like to hear it but, yes, they will roll down the window and with the door open, standing on the inside of the door, put their hands on either:1. the rear top and side window frame or2. both hands on the top front window frame. knee braced against the door panel and pull the window frame inward slightly toward them. then they will check the fit with the window closed and the door closed. this usually solves alot of wind noise problems.hope this helps. if you take your time you can do it yourself, just don't pull to hard you only need to move it 2 to 3 mm

Thanks for the replies. I never thought to try bending the doorframe. I have checked the weather stripping and it looks okay. I think I'll have the dealership take a good look at it next time I bring it in for an oil change and see what they can do.

I just wanted to add that I too hear the wind noise coming from the driver's side door. I haven't searched out the cause yet, but it is good to hear that it might be a simple fix.
