Bypassing stock AMP

I am looking to bypass the stock amp and let my HU take care of the amplification and the bass. It seems as though I can't get the right amount of bass out of my subs without having distortion in my door speakers and tweeters. I know this has been covered before, but I don't think it has been in this context. I want to run the wires to completely bypass the amp. For example, I want to remove the wires going into the amp an attach them directly to the wires coming out of the amp so I have the wires still running the same route but not going through the amp. HOW DO I DO THIS?? What wires to what wires.

There are a few threads that have the stuff from the service manual. I forget exactly which ones...My advice would be to simply rewire straight to the headunit, run new speaker cables to the harnesses at the door, rather than at the amplifier.

if you look at http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...o.gif you should be able to identify amp inputs (HU outputs) and amp speaker outputs. Not sure if you could just splice the tweeters in to the front speaker lines from the HU, or if you'd need to get a crossover for them.Would be cool if you could find connectors exactly like the ones on the amp and build jumper plugs (a connector with a bunch of wire loops) so youo could just unplug the connectors from theamp and plg in your jumpers instead, so you wouldn't have to cut any wires, but I don't think anyone has ever identified a source for the electrical connectors. Would be easier if there was some sort of Metra adapter hareness for amp like there are for the stock HU.

You might need some passive crossovers for the tweeter... I know the tweeters in the Nav system have them on the tweeter themselves, and just piggyback off the front door speakers...

True..I just like to not deal with the "X" factor, especially as far as factory wiring goes! You're right though, it'd be much cleaner to build jumpers at the amplifier

So, does anyone actually have an answer?
