K&N Typhoon Intake

Has anyone installed this?..and what type of results(on a base Vibe)I live in Alberta and was concerned with a C.A.I due to our long winters and the snow and slush issue. I think that a short ram would be more practical given our climate. I found a Typhoon new for $191.00 CDN, is that a good price?

Well most Vibe owners here have Comso or Injen CAI without having any probs. The Cosmo one is about $150 were as the Injen one can be like $300CAD. The Injen one comes with a better rep from what I can tell... I am talking myself out of buying a Cosmo and saving for an Injen. Both work very well with the Vibe. But K&N.. I don't know much of but price wise seems alright. Short Ram would be pointless, sure they are good but go for the power! lol And water probs shouldn't happen unless your always driving in one that comes up past the floor.

I'll just save my back and use a hoist at work.

On a side note - the 'short ram' intakes provide just as much "power" increase as the ful cai does -- as both are really just improving the volume and quality of the intake air. The actual benefit from having the filter down by the road is still somewhat of a question.....

ya, i usually drive up some ramps or use a jack to crawl under there. lowered it so it's difficult to get under there!

Short Ram or Full CAI... which gets better fuel? I can handle a filter thats out of the way.I use the hoists at work for everything, from my own oil changes, brake inspections and tire removal to install my new rims. Working at a dealership has some benefits lol.

So this could really help out with fuel consumption and not just sound good with more power lol.

Fuel economy really varies. Some people have found increases in economy while others have seen drops.

Well hopefully I see an increase With this cold weather, I'm doubting I'm getting any good fuel milage.

I like the Typhoon very much(it;s very loud on cold start up), found a bit of a milage drop but not that significant.

i've had a typhoon on my '03 gt for some time now. love it. yes it is a little noisey at start up, but man it sounds great in lift. haven't noticed a significant change in milage. really haven't been paying to much attention to it. lol. i've been havin to much fun with the car. $191 CDN sounds like a great price.

I also got my rims and tires there.
