anybody here ever installed one of those laminate wood floors? I am doing my basement next week. Any tips or tricks to pass along?

We're going to be putting this in our condo. We went to Home Depot on the weekend for one of their "How to" seminars on Laminate flooring. She said if your subfloor is concrete then you must put on a vapour barrier before laying down the laminate.

I did my back entrance in Jan. Must say it was very easy to install. I glued the joints together because of heavy traffic from outside. If you get any water at all in your basement, I would not recommend installing a laminate floor.

The dogs don't like it. We had to put a rug down so they could walk on it. It's like walking on ice to them.

I can ask my dad if you wantt.(My dad was a carpenter for like 30 years, and did three of our rooms in our old house)

Be sure to get a moisture barrier underneath. The last thing you want is the flooring warping.

We installed some laminate flooring yesterday in our new condo. We got about half of the condo finished and hope to finish up the rest this week. We are just not handy people.

i ended up not doing the install because my father thought it wouldnt work so we kind of scrapped the idea. but then later in the week he changed his mind but i was out of time so it will have to wait till summer starts

A month and a half after starting the laminate floor in our condo we finally finished! Now the entire condo is done in laminate except the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room.

final one...As you can see we have no baseboards.

Not sure yet. We've got all our stuff moved in since those photos were taken, so baseboards kinda fell by the wayside. Eventually we'll get to them. Also want to replace the closet doors in the bedroom with smoked mirrorred ones... my list of things to do keeps growing.
