Nav System or Moon & Tunes?

I never thought I would buy a new car without a Bose stereo system, but I have to admit I am giving the Vibe serious looks. Who can give me a first-hand comparison opinion on the 200W stereo included with Moon & Tunes compared with the audio system included with the DVD Nav system? Is the 6-disk changer included standard with either option, or is it a separate RPO? If not in-dash, where do they mount the changer? Thanks.EarlJust paid off '98 Intrigue GL and looking already!

If not in-dash, where do they mount the changer? The 6-disk changer is optional with the Moon & Tunes package as well as if you don't buy the Moon & Tunes package. Of course it is not an option if you buy the DVD Nav system as it is already included. The 6-disk changer is mounted under the passenger seat if you purchase the DVD Nav system.Pretty much all stereo combinations available with the Vibe (be it the base system or 200W system or Nav System) sound almost identical, besides the tweeters (only included with the 6-speaker systems), located on the A-Pillars, make a little better audio clarity.

I still marvel after five years at the smooth, deep bass produced by the factory Bose system in my Intrigue. I was hoping that the Vibe, being geared to a younger, music-loving market, would have an above-average (more than just loud) sound system.Earl

I was hoping that the Vibe, being geared to a younger, music-loving market, would have an above-average (more than just loud) sound system.I was also disappointed during my first Vibe test drive (w/ 200-watt system). The system did not perform near as expected after I adjusted the presets to get the best bass, treble, etc. The standard system in my Cavalier sounds 100% better than the amplified system in my Vibe. Now this is even considering the different speaker sizes and configurations, plus the cabin size.I only get decent response if I play CD's vs. the radio.I guess that is what you can expect from a factory system unless it is backed by Bose components, or even the Monsoon system.

Theres a fix... UPGRADEI replaced my head unit, yes i have the moons and tunes, and yes i kept the original amp. But, the output on my head unit is 200w too.So it sounds alot better, except i cant even get close to raising the volume way cause it gets too loud.Oh a BTW, i just installed a box hooked up to a 250w amp in my trunk(sounds much better)

I've heard the 6 and 4-speaker systems and they do in fact sound the same. Not much of a dif at all. Went with the base audio, but wish I got the moon roof.
