Preparing for meet...what should I get.

I want to buy something for my own personal enjoyment and to show off at the big Michigan meet in June. I'm trying my hardest to save up enough money to buy the Exhaust and CAI package from ptuning.com but things arn't looking good when you make $30 a paycheck...Im going to save as much as I can by June and that will determine what I buy...so...I was thinking of getting tint and one of those flashy new steel grills if I can't afford the performance...I would like to hear some more suggestions please, maybe something else will be more appealing Power means everything to me so getting the exhaust and cai is my dream, and has bene since I got the Vibe July 2002.

You can get a cheaper tube for the CAI, then get a filter from a good company (K&N, Injen, AEM, etc). That's what I did and the performance is the same. The full CAI ended up costing me around $85 ($50 for the ebay CAI, $35 for the AEM filter)If you're on a tight budget, then you can do some work yourself. For instance, how about painting your valve cover then clearcoating to give your engine some color? You can also pic up some seat covers and steering wheel cover for fairly cheap. I'll include a pic of my car, hopefully you can see the covers in it. They're pretty cheap and give it a nice look IMO.

Make sure your ride is clean, otherwise its not a big deal if its got exhaust and CAI and all that or not. My Vibe at the meet will have the rims and "maybe" a Cosmo CAI... otherwise probably just the rims. I'm still showing though and hope people like my ride. I'll still be looking at everyone else's ride if its not modified, including yours. You got the under vehicle body lighting effects, not many there with that but a lot will have CAI.

paul, i salsa's right with this one. it wouldn't be worth dumping more and more money into your car since it's almost 2 yrs old at this point. unless you know for sure you will keep it til the wheels fall off, most likely, you will be wanting to change to something else. but.... if you are wanting performance then go w/ the cosmo cai and get a better filter. that'll get you closer to what you want. just save piece by piece and add as you go. for the cost of the grills, you can have your cai adn that will atleast add hp and torque. the grills won't.

Woah. I didn't know that was you lol. We had a half day and I was hungry before I went to work so my friends and I went to get some food lol. I didn't notice you! Thanks for the input. I do plan on keeping this car for a while. If I ever change my mind than Ill just save again...chances are I wont ever buy a new car because there arn't too many new cars that appeal to me. I can get my dream car for under 10 grand if it comes down to it.I already put half of what ever money I get into the bank so I'm not spending all my money on the car , and the reason I didn't buy any mods for the car when I first got it was, for one thing, a lack of money, and another was because I had no idea any performance parts exsisted at the time I got it...as a mater of fact I don't think I found the exhaust and CAI for a long time after i got the car.lol, I want to get the mods for my pleassure as well not JUST for something to show off. When I heard Neal's exhaust and CAI made me want one even more badly...it sounds great

If you are really straped for cash you could awalys buy something off e-bay. I was looking the other day and found an intake system for 108 thats a good deal, but im like you I have no cash at the moment. I wish I would have got preformance before I made my car look nice*sigh*. Tint makes it look nice ill agree with that. Umm neons are awalys good I guess but im getting rid of mine.
