What kind gas do you fill for your car? Regular, Plus, or Premium?

I put the midgrade in because Ethanol is good for the environment, and it is a few cents cheaper here.

regular, whatever octane that is... 87 maybe?Is it OK to fill my regular gas engine with premium ? and does it help any if I do ?

you can fill your car with any fuel as long as it meets or exceeds the minimum octane requirements.base vibes require a MINIMUM of 87 octane. anything above that is perfectly fine. won't damage your car, and likely WON'T provide any benefits.GTs require a MINIMUM of 91 octane. You should always fill with 91 or higher unless you absolutely can't find it. One or two tanks of less than 91 won't be the end of your car, but extended use can damage your engine. You should refuel with 91 or higher as soon as you can.

Welcome to the wonders of 93 octane at 1.77 a gallon. Woohoo!But damn..it's fun to drop down two gears and go "PHWEEEE" past people.

Sunoco 93Octane only.Not that is the best but that is where i have the card for and the gt requires the premium

For the Base Vibe, 87 octain is what is recommanded/required. You are wasting money if you put in anything higher than that.Octain is measure of ability to resist knocking. The higher the octain, easier it is to ignite the fuel. In fact, there is remote possibility that putting 91 octain in an engine tuned for 87 octain will harm the engine because 91 octain will ignite earlier that it should. As I said, it is a very small chance, but why pay extra to add this risk when there is no other gain.Don't fall for Gas company's marketing tricks. All grades of gasoline have detergents and buying a higher grade than what is called out in a manual doesn't get you anything except a thinner wallet.
