EDIT - wish I 'd named the thread "web cam near me" instead of "web cam by me" since "by me" could imply that it's my web cam, which it is notThere's a college about a half mile from my house, (yeah, I'm a 'townie') and I found they have a webcam online, This is what it's like where I live:EDIT - /sunsetcam LINK BROKENAnybody else got a link to an exterior web cam near where you live or work?

Those are little sail boats. You can take a college class on "sailing" Most times you see those pulled up on the pier. The water there almost never freezes over.

This is not by me, but this is a webcam of a popular square in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It's got to be the best webcam I ever saw. WM Player with sound. There are absolutely no jerky type movements. Just remember that it is a LIVE webcam and Amsterdam is EST plus 6 hours. The video streams at 918 Kbits/sec it is like you are looking out of a window.

They dropped the old camera, sunsetcam is no longer on line, but they have a new one, this time looking more northerly, over looks the construction of their new River Center The web cam is at
http://www.smcm.edu/webcam/index.html With this new camera direction, if my house were to catch fire, I'd be able to see the smoke online, somewhere back in behind the shore line on the far side

If you want to see something really cool, webcam wise, search Boyne Mountain, Mi it is one of the "ok" ski resorts in Michigan... they have interactive webcams that you can position, look at different parts of the hill, zoom and genraly spy on the place... it's nifty... The link...
