I was thinking about this (in yellow, of course) http://www.decalkits.com/cgi-b...ripes What do you think?I like it because it will stand out, without being "over the top" (like some of the others).

They offer a couple of different sizes, so I would assume that one of them would be ok.

I need to stop by Pep Boys again..they had a lighted pinstripe that you could put anywhere on your car.. was like $50..I don't think that particular pinstripe would look bad on the Vibe.. (The one in the thread, not the glowy one)

Thanks drunken! I like it (my daughter agrees, but my wife doesn't).

Get out the measuring tape and see what would be a good overall length on your Vibe. Then see how close in length that they make them. It would suck to order one that was too short or too long.

I did a very quick measure of the Vibe, and got about 128" of body from the back of the headlights to the front of the rear lights. The longest kit they sell is 113", so I would guess that would do just fine if applied in the correct spot.

Yeah, I can see making that length work. If you do get the stripes, make sure that you properly prepare the surface so that they will stick well. I'm sure that they will come with suggestions on what to use to do that. They will probably suggest something like rubbing alcohol. I prefer DuPont's Prep-Sol, but the alcohol will work as long as the surface is clean. Good luck, Reynoma! Post pics if you do get them!

I just did a little more "exact" measuring, and I don't think it will work. Since I have 128" to deal with, the 113" decal will either (a) only go slightly past the rear door (and look crappy) or (b) not be able to dip down past the front wheel (and look crappy). So, I think I'm probably going to abandon this idea and go with my original yellow pinstriping done by my local detail shop. Thanks for the opinions and a special thanks to drunken for the photoshop work.

I was thinking that you'd try and split the difference in the space. I didn't think that 7 1/2 inches on each end would make that big of a difference, but it will depend on how the decal is shaped, particularly at the ends. Strange that the decals only come in such short lengths, the Vibe isn't really any longer then the average new car today. In fact, it may actually be a little shorter. I wonder what they were thinking?

I emailed the vendor about the length issue, and they said that they would provide the decal in the length I need at no additional cost. Cool

After seeing the PhotoShop, I don't like it. It would look OK on a Celica but not on a Vibe.

I showed my daughter the Photoshop picture, and she told me it looks like a giant pencil on the side of my car.
