Has anyone tried to wire the horn to the remote door lock system?When you press the remote, the doors lock, the lights flash, and thehorn would sound once.

well, you could wire in a relay that would trigger each time the P/L flash, but it would also honk twice when unlocking.problem is, you gotta wire it to the KE system, and make sure not to wire it to the parking light system independently.otherwise, anytime your parking or head lights are on, your horn would be going.

Like ragingfish said..you'd have to find the Keyless entry circuitry itself. Otherwise the horn would honk every time the parking lights were on, or everytime you lock/unlock the doors using the power locks..

Just a thought here. Why not add a second horn to the system, this way you're not messing with the original.If you hook the 2nd horn to the keyless system, then it should work, provided the keyless system supplies enough power to actually run a horn.

I think the doorlocks are negative pulse in the Vibe, so you'd have to add a relay anyway. If they're negative, then the KE module doesn't put out any power at all.Even still, you'd have to figure out WHERE the keyless entry stuff was. And then deal with diodes so you didn't set off the horn any time you locked the doors...

And you will have to add a little capacitor and resistance to your "upgrade" to avoid having really big and loud horn honk.The cap-res config will give you the little bip-bip you want.

The keyless entry receiver is located in the rear passenger side of the car, you should be able to see or at least feel it if you open up the back storage door, the one that you would need to pop off if you had to replace a tail lamp. Should be forward of the opening, towards/above the wheel well. I don't have keyless entry, but I found the wiing harness for it there.Looking at the wiring diagram for the keyless entry system it seems like there are four wires that go to the receiver module, and they are:pin color signal1 WHT/BLK Ground2 BLU/RED Lock/Unlock Signal3 GRN/YEL Program Signal4 not used5 BLU/YEL +12V from DOME fuseSince the Lock/Unlock signal could really be either lock, unlock, or hatch, it seems like it may be more than just ground or +12V. It may not be a good place to tap into without knowing exactly what signal is on the wire. wires 2 and 3 run to something called the multifunction alarm module which is supposed to be in the dash fues block. It looks like the actuators for the doors are fed ground and two wires from the alarm module that provide +12v lock and +12V unlock. Could be difficult to wire in circuitry on the actuator side of the alarm module that wouldn't also bip the horn when you used the door switches to lock or unlock.Probably best bet would be to find an oscilloscope and see exactly what signal in on the signal wire from teh receiver to the alarm module, and then come up wiht a way to use that. Would also be interesting to find out if there is any signal on pin 4. The wiring diagram says that is "not used" but maybe (since it's no longer Friday the 13th) you'll get lucky and find that the same receiveer is used in other applications that do tie in to the horn, adn that pin 4 does what you need but it is just "not used" in Vibes. Pure speculation, but that would be cool.I also like pmh013's ideea. Replace the wimpy stock horn with something real, and use that stck horn for the keyless entry sound.

Ragingfish, you've got the service manual, right? See if you can find a schematic of the door lock / KE system. I'm sure we could figure out what feeds where. It might just be a matter of different resistences..

OK, I ordered a GM service manual from Helm yesterday for $120.00.That way I have a wiring diagram!! Also ordered from Summit racingHella's twin supertone horns for 61.00, that way I can have 2 systems,but the stock one will propably go WIMP HORN !!!!!!!!!!!!Will try 2 seperate relays, one energized from the horn switch, and one energized from the keyless remote. You are right, just need tofind a 12v pulse to energize the relay. Will run a fused hot to bothrelays to provide power. Will have all the stuff by next Friday.Thanks for the help. If the KE pulses ground, you can wire one of the relays to do it that way, too. So what you might want to do... Wire the Hella horns with the supplied relay. (Which is how I did it) Then use that second relay to "fire" the relay that's directly driving the horns, that way everything is still isolated from everything else..
