Rear wiper/washer

The rear wiper control has two ways to get washer fluid, one is with the wipers all the way on you turn it a little more. The other is with the wipers off, you turn in the direction of 'off'.The problem is, you would expect the 'off wash' function to cycle the wiper blade a few times, it doesn't, it just puts fluid on the window. Useless.I'm wondering if this was a Toyota stupid mistake or if something is wrong with mine. Are yours working this way?

It's designed that way. The theory behind it is that you "prewash" the window before activating the blade to keep dried dirt from scratching the glass.Per your manual:Quote »You can twist the lever downward to create alarge flow of water on the rear window, then twist thelever back up to wipe the window. This feature is helpfulto quickly clear the rear liftglass when very dirty.

I will tell you nicely to read your owners manual. It's covered in there. Also, if you use the search function (located in the top right hand corner), you'll see where this has been discussed before. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2156 http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1913 The last one is especially good.

Thanks Mike.Well gee, dunno how I missed that, a hearty RTFM to me. Still, I think that is creative writing in the form of "It's not a bug, it's a feature!"
