GenVibe - Community for Pontiac Vibe Enthusiasts

I was wondering if anyone knew of another stock stereo that fits the vibe. I would like to keep the "factory" look of the stereo, but wanted one that played MP3s.Does anyone know if the stock mp3/cd/stereo on the Pontiac sunfire fit the vibe well? Or any other car stereo that fits the vibe well?THANKS!Rich

Dimensionally they should be identical.However, I can't say if they interface the same or not. I suspect the do, but have no basis for that argument.

There are other vehicles that use the same connector (Metra part 80-2003), but you're not gonna find one from a newer vehicle that'll work. Most of the newer ones, 2002-2003, though some before, use a completely different interface, part of the GM DataBus...Give it a shot though..I doubt you'd blow anything up by plugging in the unit from another car, as long as the plugs match.

Did you ever try to fit the Sunfire radio into the Vibe? I'm thinking the same thing as you. Install the Sunfire Radio because it has MP3 playback.
