Okay, this may sound silly, but I was thinking about this for a while now...you opinions good and bad are appreciated....So here it goes: I was wondering if Matrix/Vibe owners wanted to get together during the summer to participate/organize a fundraising activity for any organization. It can either be for Cancer, Asthma, AIDS, MADD, etc. We can sort that out later. My question to you is whether there is enough interest to even go further with this. Doing this would do two things: 1. Do something for a good cause; 2. Get our name out into the media. I am going to post this same question to Matrix/Vibe.net and Matrixowners.com. I know that some of you are members of all three sites, but only reply to one as this will give me a better idea who is interested. Like I said - just a thought.

that's a great idea...assuming I can swing some spare time from my 1.5 jobs right now, I'm in. At the very least, I could help organize.Next on my agenda: find a Vibe.

Lets not let this idea fall off into nothing. Since there are a few of us that are good to go, then lets get at it. Are there any suggestions for the organization that we raise funds for???Also any Ideas on what we want to do????Lets keep this one alive

Well ZedTim just IM me, and he suggested MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Driving). Now, as far as what we will do is still up in the air, but something to do with cars should be good....whether it is a cruise to bring awareness or a carwash or anything else will still need to be decided on.

I don't know how much $$$ would come in from us for MADD if we just drove. I'm not into driving all around ON right now anyway. But some sorta car wash would be nice, I'd wash cars and we could have ours all set up to show off.

MADD is a good organization because that really revolves around carsI'm also a full fledged member of MADD if that is the org. we want to represent I will take it to the big boss on Monday when we have our meeting and throw it on the table. Planning for this now is a great Idea something like a car wash or something that requires cars in some way.

Sounds like a plan....but when they ask you what time of the year (pick July or August)....you know...warm months.

Definatly in the summer after the MI meet while the weather is still warm.

If we are going to do a MADD event, why not try and get it rolling near to when the kids are getting out of school for the year. That is the time that Madd/Sadd put on the most of there things to get the most awareness t othe kids before they run off and get themselves killed in the summer time.I have been involved with demonstrations of what can happen if people drink and drive. Pretty real and hard hitting stuff. I did however get their attention and brought the message home.

I am not sure how we would be able to pull this off, however, saying that, Why not give it a try. At least we could have fun putting it together.

well a couple friends of mine have done it before after work today I'll see if they are available to help out with it, plus if we are doing a fund raiser for MADD then they will send some of their reps as well let me know T

I guess no one showed up. I just happened to be in the neighbourhood and drove by around 10 pm. There was one Vibe, but it wasn't even there for the meet. I am test driving another vehicle this week. I was Vibeless and didn't bother sticking around. When does everyone want to meet to discuss the plans?

I was going to go but ended up not for other reasons. One being its a far drive for me to make just to hang for 2 hours... takes me that long to get there then have to drive all the way back home.

Since TedZim is our contact within MADD, if we are going to meet at all we should make sure that he is there as well. Although we have some time to plan this I want to advertise at least a month or two before the actual date. My reason is that we have a lot of advertising to do and I want to invite our Vibe/Matrix friends from the States as well.

well just about any Monday or Tuesday I can be there. I work nights right now and can't get away right from Wed to Sun... it's going to really suck in the summer thou.. although I will be taking the day of the event off T

Well when we get a set date, we can go to all the other Vibe and Matrix sites, I'll announce it at the performance sites I go to. If we all are going to the states ones, they should come to ours

Another good fundraising event would be T.C.A.F.R.B.

I have always thought that the G.T.A.N.B. was a great charity, but I would imagine that I would be the only one.(get trocar a new bike) acharity which I would like to support more than I do
