From Automotive News:Dodge halts new Durango salesThrottle problem on 21,000 vehicles citedBy Mary ConnellyAutomotive News / January 13, 2004--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dodge is telling dealers to stop selling the redesigned 2004 Dodge Durango because the throttle is liable to stick in the open position, resulting in a "crash without warning." An estimated 21,000 vehicles are affected, the company said in a written communication to dealers. The vehicles affected are equipped with a 3.7-liter V-6 or 4.7-liter V-8. The stop order does not include Durangos equipped with Dodge's 5.7-liter V-8 Hemi engine. The company began building the redesigned 2004 model in September 2003. "Water may enter into the throttle cable housing on about 21,000 of the vehicles," the written notice said. "If the vehicle is subjected to freezing temperatures, this could cause the throttle to stick in the open position and result in a crash without warning." The stop sale order requires dealers to install a revised throttle control cable. Most of the affected vehicles remain in dealer inventory, the company's notice said. Dealers are contacting any customers who have taken delivery of an affected vehicle

They just gave a 2004 Dodge Durango to the family that Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie lived with on the Simple Life.

It's good that they caught that Durango problem early, hopefully few people were affected. When the Vibe first came out, there was a recall because the rear brake assembly could fall off.

The dodge dart was an excellent example of fine american craftmanship... -edit- upon google image searching, i found that the dart used to be a pretty cool muscle car prior to the '80s 4cyl hatchback mock mustang style i am familiar with! (kind of ruined my sarcasm)

The fix was to torque some bolts, probably done on your vehicle before you bought it, since you bought it in April. Check out
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=58and maybe also
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=647.if you're still worried, call a dealer and ask them to check your VIN to see if it was affected/corrected.
