is this the pontiac answer to the Scion??

You learned me Pontiac will offer a version of the Chevy Aveo. It is indicated future model but the Wave is supposed to be a 2004...But I don't like very much the look of these small cars...

I've seen Aveo's around here. Why would Pontiac need a Vibe, Aveo & Wave? Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Aveo is chevy.wave is mexico-only.

Haven't the manufacturers been through this before (Mustang & Capri, the 2 Neons, are the first ones that comes to mind, but I know there's been lots of others) -- putting similar or exact cars under 2 different badges, only to axe one.

Saw my first Wave commercial tonight.I still don't understand why Pontiac needs 2 5 door-hatch backs.

We got 3 Waves at the dealership I work at. You know for the average person stuck driving in town all the time that car would be perfect, but for a tall guy like me, I can't even fit in the back.Welcome back redesigned Firefly.

GM is the master of copycat-ing their own products. I mean, look no further than the cavalier/sunfire, cobalt/pursuit, century/regal, pretty much the whole GMC and Chevy trucks and SUVs (I won't even throw the carryover with Isuzu and Suzuki products). But heck, everyone does it...I'd say this has more to do with developing brand loyalty. According to GM's own research, the owner of a Silverado would first consider buying a ford truck than purchasing the equivalent GMC model (the Sierra). These entry level cars are even more important; market research shows that first time car buyers generally consider the next-generation or one-up model of the same brand, so its easier to get these people into the showroom than it is someone who drives something offered by the competition. Pontiac execs obviously felt they would lose future-potential sales to the Chevy brand by not having a similarly priced vehicle in their lineup. I actually don't think the Aveo/Pursuit is as important to the US market than it is to the Canadian market. But thats just me

yeah those Aveos and Waves are for ppl that want a cute affordable car for collage... I would hate to see one of those after an accident. I barely fit inside when they are in one piece. I'd definatly need to be cut out.

Just slightly off topic, but I'd not heard of the Pontiac Pursuit. I looked it up. Is it just me, or is that one really boring Pontiac?
