I was browsing the GM Vibe accessories web site and found a link for install directions for the supercharger. It looks a bit to involved for me, any idea what the dealers will be chargeing for install. The site also said it was not available for awd and GT, but did not specifiy stock auto only. Has base manual SC now been released?

Coooool. Thanks for the reading material! I have a call into the closest GM dealership about the cost to install the Vibe Supercharger (I gave him the GM part number from this site). I will post their quote. So far the installation doesnt look too tough, except for running wires in the existing loom. I HATE doing that, but I always do it anyway on my projects. Hmmm, might be too tough since it is a new car.Anyone else worried about the spelling errors in that document? I mean if they make those errors.....

Yep, I am really wanting to have GM install it, but if there quote is too high for the installation I probably will not do it. Ill hafta think long and hard about it tho.....

Local GM shop never called back, so I called them. The roughly estimate $800 for the install. The service advisor and their top mechanic looked at the info on the SC and decided it would take @ 12 hours to install.Hmmmmm. This GM garage is usually one of the "better" ones around here. They have done some work for me due to the fact they have been pretty reasonable labor cost wise and they usually have the lowest price around on GM parts.

I went by the dealer again today to return my 'How did we do at the point of sale?' questionaire. They gave me a free tank of gas for filling it out with A+ answers. I mentioned to the salesman my interest in a SC and he said they haven't installed one yet. I live in Houston, Tx. USA which is a VERY large city. It's hard to believe that one has not been put on one of their cars yet. The wife and I bought the vibe on Halloween 10/31/03 and it is a base/auto. Just today crested 2k miles and I think we're ready for some haul-(removed). I'm just a little concerned that I'll be their test guineapig. I seriously want to supercharge. Any comments or suggestions?

I would say 12 hours is a good estimate for a SC install.Quote, originally posted by cdFxer »Local GM shop never called back, so I called them. The roughly estimate $800 for the install. The procedure for running wires to the ECU is spread across 4 pages, Not sure if these are what you want. Went with higher resolution than I would normally choose so that the pics would show up better, sorry for the file sizes.

thanks. im on webtv so i cant right click anything.but the address worked. i read it all but i still didnt find what i wanted. i thought they would give me individual wire names so i could know exactly what the sc ecu does. i wanted to know were or if there are any wires on the solenoid to the bypass valve and were they go . mabey i overlooked it. i'll read it again. i like that part about "create a wire feeding tool out of a clothes hanger or other suitable material"lol. there are turbo kits that are easier to install than this! edit: im an electrician so when i see the word solenoid i look for wires but apparently they are calling that gizmo with the hoses the solenoid.

I saw an SC Vibe on the floor of Navarette Pontiac in Elgin, the adder to the base price was $5400. In talking to the parts manager, he said the kit costs about $2000 and it took all day for the techs to put it in. They had to ghew up the intake cover pretty good too!

How much does this boost the HP and torque of your Vibe?
