Well all I can say is AWESOME! Much more breathtaking then both of the others. Flawless cgi. But everytime you thought it ended it kept going. It started at 8:45 and we walked out at 12:15...

Me too. First one I've seen. Now I know why it was the first and only one I will see....hated it. My a$$ is still numb and it's 6 hrs after I saw it!On a side note, did anyone since a little (removed)-eroticism in it? Those hobbits, I tell ya!

LOL me and my friends were talking about (removed)-hobbits the entire time. We thought Sam and Frodo were gonna turn out to be lovers by the end...anyways, it was a good movie. I saw the midnight showing tues. night/wends. morning. I didnt get out untill 3:45 or so. Great movie though. My theatre was offering "Trilogy Tickets". They showed all 3 movies back to back. Im not sure if the first 2 were the extended versions or not. But if not, can you imagine 10 hrs or more of lord of the rings. They sold out within 5 minutes

I loved the first 2 movies, and the "Lord of the Rings" books are the only books I have ever liked in my entire life. Maybe I'll take my girlfriend to see it Saturday

I read the 4 books (Hobbit + Lord of the Rings trilogy) when I was in college (about 12 years ago). I loved the books. I've only seen the first two movies (on DVD) and I love them. I am really looking forward to seeing the latest; however, it is doubtful I'll get to the movies. I'll be waiting for the DVD.

i am a huge fan of the LOTR trilogy. i only read the hobbit when i was in grade school and vaguely remembered the story. saw the first of the films and really enjoyed it. then it just became an annual tradition, see it when it opens. i saw the 3rd one weds night and also on thurs night w/ 2 sets of friends. (i was in fairbanks thurs and fri). the movie was awesome. a bit long, but cinematography was superb! it was by far, the best of the 3. glad it wasn't a disappointment like the last matrix movie.

My wife and I saw it the day after it opened here and if the movies weren't so damn expensive we would go again. We don't go to see many movies at the theater because of the $9.50/ticket price, usually we wait to rent the dvd or video but we do make exceptions at times. What's up with that anyway, doesn't Hollywood make enough money already? Can't they charge less and still make tons of money from the theaters? The studios still make boatloads of money from the cable tv/pay per view rights and video/dvd sales anyway so the drop in their box office take certainly wouldn't bankrupt them.
