welcome to genvibe.I don't know if you can still use one or not, you probably need to ask the dealer to be sure. at
http://www.gminthedriveway.com there's a FAQ, which includes the following statement:"20. Can I receive this discount from any GM Dealer? This program is available through all participating U.S. GM Dealers and is voluntary on the part of the dealers. Dealer participation is on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis. Please inform your dealer of your intention to use the "GM in the Driveway" certificate during your first contact with the dealer. If your dealer elects not to participate, you may visit another GM Dealer. "Also, be glad you're not in canada, sounds like the wait on an ordered vibe is about 4 months there.

The other question - does it really make much difference. Current rabate is $1,500 in my area. While the dealer discount depends somewhat on the MSRP, a $1,000 discount is about par as the spread between invoice and msrp (including the advertising fees) is not a lot more than $1,000. If you got $2,500 more or less off MSRP including rebate don't lose any sleep over it. I doubt that the "GM in the driveway is worth any more than another hundred or two, if that. I admit that I do not know "everything". Anyone here with other info, please speak up.
thanks for the info - upon further review I don't think certificate will help as I

am basically getting my base Vibe for a bit over $1000 below MSRP less an additional $2000 incentive rebateoh well it was worth a try seeking out additional discounts - I probably should have acquired a GM credit card and transferred an existing account balance

I don't think transferred balances earn the 5% rebate credit on GM Cards any more.

hey, don't feel bad. i paid full msrp for my vibe in april. then you see some folks on here paid like $5K less than me! but, i needed it then and that day, so no money down and 1.9% interest, i'll just deal with it.

there is a $250 voucher you can get. it is a settlement check for the 70's truck tank issue. voucher . you see them on Ebay all the time. I kept a few at all time, as I buy cars all the time. I actually have 2 of them. pm or e-mail me if you need them.as for GM card rebate, see if any of your friend has it. you would be suprised how many people have them. all they have to do is add put your name on the card, you don't even get a card. offer them 1/2, which is still 2.5% deal for them.also Upromise.com have $150, but you do have to be enrolled for at least 6 months.

I could kick myself for not knowing about those $250 certificates sold on E-Bay - and I am an E-Bay junkie! This is the first I have heard about those. That's like taking candy from a baby. Two now offered on E-Bay at $9.99 plus $3 shipping - a $237 profit for anyone buying before mid-Jan. For Columbus, OH area buyers, there is a $200 Haydocy Pontiac coupon in the Ohio Savings Bank coupon book - free for qualifying account holders, $20 for others with a nonqualifying account. A lot of other good coupons in there as well especially if you like to eat out. Ohio Savings pays good interest on checking accounts too. 2% for balances over $50,000.
Hope I can have your last GM In the Driveway Certificate?

Be glad you get a $2,000 rebate. Seems to be only $1,500 here in Ohio. (Was $2,000 on the 2003's.)
