Yay, just saw my vibe in the GM lot... all covered in plastic and stuff. I'm supposed to pick it up this evening! Since ordering my Abyss on April 15th I'd almost forgotten I'd purchased a new car Gonna go for a nice looooong drive this evenging!By the way, how do you all break in your engines? I'm planning to take it easy for about 1000km and make sure the revs wander all over the tach rather than sitting at 3000rpm all the time.Let me know what you recommend. Thanks!

I would baby it for a few hundred k. That would be late this evening. A good range of rpm's is good but don't go too high for too long. A thousand k is consevative for a break in.With my GT all this went out the window with my first traffic light race at 600 k.

Haha, yeah, i tested a gt... i'm amazed that you made it to 600k I'm going to be conservative on this car - take her easy for a long time, rev it only after about 5/600k and feed her synthetic oil. That's the plan, anyway!

Well...............it had 500k when I picked it up at the dealer. To get me a the Satellite color they gave up the Salsa GT they had for one in Toronto. The dealer flew down a salesmen to pick it up and drive it to Sudbury. I had it only one day before the "race". I had found life after 6000 during the test drive with my wife.

Well, with 500K already on the engine you were pretty safe. My dealer said to give it 500K as break-in mileage. Was pretty tough keeping the revs down below 5000 for that long. Keeping it below 4000 was downright impossible.
