I'm trying to get a collection of photos from those members that have issues or complaints about the paint on their Vibe or Matrix. If you would be able to take clear, clean shots of the areas affected and post them here, I will work on relaying the information and photos for further research. If you do not want to post the photos here, you may e-mail them to me at
nick@genvibe.com.This applies to any paint chipping or imperfections of any kind and on any part of the exterior of the vehicle.

Though I lost a lot of paint when the deer made impact, I got TONS of rust...just thought I'd throw this in there anyway, for "analysis." And here's a link to a 1600x1200 size photo with good detail... Link

It doesn't take long for the rust to start forming once the bare metal is exposed. Depending on environmental conditions, it can start as quickly as within a few hours. That is normal and not unique to the Vibe.

Well, I got a giggle out of it, hope I don't get the other one now.I'll have to take some pics of my stone chips and post them here when the weather clears up a bit and I get a chance. They won't show up with 8 inches of snow on top of them.

Here are some pics that fit the topic. Chip that started to peal after a hand wash during the summer on the lower rocker.

I have no complaints although I must admit I've never looked. Maybe I have some, but they're hard to see because of the colour of the car.
