Problem with door locks...

For some reason, my central locking is not working correctly. About half the time, all the doors don't lock. Not with the driver door, anyway. Works fine all the time with the passenger door. Every time I'm sick and tired of it, and I'm going to make an appointment with the service department, they start working again. It's almost like the car knows I'm taking it in (like a cat freaking out when you bring out the kitty carrier to take him/her to the vet!)...Anyway, anyone else having locking/unlocking problems with their power locks? Pete

Could be the drivers lock switch. Do you think it might have something to do with the CompuStar Alarm/remote start system you list in you signature?

No, It doesn't have anything to do with the alarm, because the problem is upstream and independent of the alarm install. The alarm wires tap into the body control module wires in the driver kick panel which are not related to the inside door switch (the switch in the driver door works fine - the pickup in the cylinder seems to be the problem right now).Pete

I see I misread your post, problem is in locking the driver door, I thought it was in locking the doors using the drivers door switch. oopsAsked about the alarm thinking maybe a dealer would not do warranty work on the locks with that aftermarket mod, but sounds like it's far enough removed from the problem.Does it seem like the driver electric door lock is intermittently completely dead, or is it sometimes just weak?

Not to make a stupid observation, but have you popped off the door panel and made sure the cylinder lock wires are not loose?Just thinking to eliminate the obvious stuff...could also be a stuck cylinder, maybe a little WD-40 would fix that up...
