Happy Thanksgiving to you meatheat and all others. I'm watching the Lions and Green Bay now and also helping my wife with the cooking.We had a rough morning. Uncovered our pet parakeet and she was on the bottom of her cage. I picked her up and held her and she died 10 mins. later in my hands. We had her for almost 15 years and she was always happy to see me when I would come home from work. It's hard to explain, but I was very attached to a little bird.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.Rasermon, my parakeets (HAL and Winnie) and I offer our sympathy. It is tough to lose a family pet, especially one you've had so long.It does sound like she had a wonderful, long life though. For me it's not tough to understand the attachment. Winnie was sick for a long time (2+ years) and every day seemed like it could be the end. That was tough. Luckily, she pulled through, and is doing well now.
