I think I like the '04's styling better, especially the grill. This one looks more like a Matrix.

I think it's the Vibe GXP that has been making the show rounds:http://www.gminsidenews.com/SEMA%20GXP.htm#PONTIAC VIBE GXP SHOW CAR

Another photo:http://www.genvibe.com/images/...4.jpgFor now, that is just a show car with no intentions for release. The Vibe will be 'refreshed' for 2006 but nothing as dramatic as the changes in the GXP (from what I have heard).

There may be shows previous to that specific one where they may publically show the 2006 model but I'm not sure.I have asked, but I know Pablo1669 can concur that they're pretty secret about any changes until made public. And if they did tell they would possibly get into alot of trouble.General feedback would indicate a front/rear end 'refresh' (kind of like they do on the Cavaliers and other models every couple years). Also more specific options may become available rather than the two main Power and Moon and Tunes packages. That's morely just speculation on my behalf though.

It looks like a ba$tardized mid-1990's Grand Am front end and they gave it the Matrix roofline. You can have it, I'll keep mine, thank you very much.We jumped right on to 2006, what happened to 2005 models? I'm assuming that the 2005 will be basically the same as the 04 model? And I agree that GM will keep a tight lip about the Vibe styling of the future until it is publicly released. Although, I'm sure many of us have seen spy photos (like ones usually published in Motor Trend) that catch a new, restyled, and unreleased image of cars being road tested, especially near a manufacturer's skunk works. They usually are painted all funny and often are intentionally missing some parts like the grille or side mouldings. I candidly remember a spy photo of a Cadillac in the early 90's that got published in MT where the driver of the skunk car gave "the finger" to the photographer as the photo was snapped. Pretty funny. I've heard that these photographers are basically "automotive paparazzi" and they hide in the bushes around the proving grounds to get the photos.

You are entitled to your opinion just as I'm entitled to mine. I'm not criticizing your views, just adding mine, so don't take it personally. I reserve the right to disagree with anyone on this site for any reason at all at any time. I often exercise this right but I always try to present my disagreement in a professional and dignified manner. As for the GA, yes, GM has sold a bazillion of them. However, I would hardly consider that as the sole criteria for judging a car. The GA is a decent car overall, however, it is not typically considered "outstanding" in anything that it attempts to accomplish. I would attribute the high sales figures to the relatively low cost of the car and the fact that you get a good bit for your money. However, the GA, to the best of my knowledge, has never won any awards for styling or reliability from any major and/or commonly recognized automotive authority. So I must not stand alone in my opinion. I haven't owned one personally, but there have been a few of them in my extended family. The general consensus is that it is an "ok" car, and its' reliability leaves much to be desired. My mom currently owns a '99 Olds Alero as her daily driver that she purchased new. The Alero is essentially the same car as the GA. I think it is a comfortable car and generally is nice, but I dislike its' exterior styling as well and I think that overall it is kinda bland. I feel that the current GA isn't particularly bad looking, but its not eye-catching, either. The mid-90's GA that I orignally refered to had an odd-looking, angular shaped front end that was overextended. It sort of looks like some kind of bug coming toward you. Not something I particularly care for. I feel the same way about the front end of the Vibe shown at the beginning of this thread. If the Vibe looked like that, I definately would not have bought one. That's my opinion, take it or leave it.

Vibebuilder, Did you happen to read any of the specs on this vehicle? I clicked on that link to the GMInside News article, but the article must be pretty old. The specs listed for the Grand Prix GXP is nothing like the one that is coming out next spring. Please fill us in on details if you have any. Thanks

I've seen them in person and they are identical other than the unmarked center cap on the Pontiac show cars.
