Outside Temperature Indicator

Yesterday just after noon, the outside temp indicator on my GT showed 112 degrees f.! That prompted me to wonder: (a) where the sensor probe is located. If it is under the hood somewhere, it could be influenced by the engine bay temp, and (b) if I had a malfunctioning indicator. The notion of a malfunction was laid to rest this morning, when the newspaper reported that the temp in Riverside yesterday was _112_, validating the accuracy of the in-dash indicator.I'm still curious, though, where the probe is located. Anyone know?

I'm still curious, though, where the probe is located. Anyone know? It's in front of the radiator. You can see it through the lower front grill.

I can see the horn in front of my radiator and nothing else with wires. Now I'm curious.

It's at the bottom, center of the radiator under the hood latch.

If you look through the grill in this area you will see it there:

I haven't had my car for two weeks yet so I am still testing out some of the features. One feature that works that I was not too happy to see was the "-" sign before the temperature today. It was -1 Celcius on the dash when I got in the car, had to scrape the windows, use the defrosters, yuck. Then I got to work and it was -4 Celcius, the car was warm so that was another feature I haven't tested too much that worked out ok.I am ready for winter though, got my Canada Tire Icetracs in the hatch!

I had my Outside Temperature Gauge up to 104 degrees F during the summer here. I will see this winter how cold it gets and what my readout states.

Yes, drive to Canada, trade in your Vibe and buy a Canadian Vibe. US Vibes are in Fahrenheit while Canadians are in Celsius.I don't think there is a way to change it without changing the display or the "brain".Also see this thread:
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2006I was looking as some pictures and I noticed that the "C" for Celsius is in the top half of the temp number while the "F" for Fahrenheit is in the lower half. I would assume this means the display is the same for both American and Canadian Vibes.
