I heard this was somewhat of a scam if you got this through a dealer. Quoted from:
http://www.carbuyingtips.com/car6.htm (pretty good site overall)quote:Don't buy the paint protection! Don't waste your money on this junk. My friend who worked at a Chevy dealer said it comes in a $5 bottle. It's just wax, and they make promises about it lasting for years. NO car wax lasts for years. Read the warranty book for "Autoarmor", it says the warranty is void if you don't wash & wax on a regular basis. The salesman tells you it lasts 2 years or more without waxing.I have read that you can get something like this done aftermarket (not though a dealer!) (which would be more reputable) and it protects your paint, but doesn't 'eliminate' the need to wash and wax your vehicle. Basically what it does is makes it alot easier to remove marks, stains, etc. from the paint. You can do a search on your favorite Search Engine on this subject if you want more info. (my favorite is

5 Star Shine is the biggest teflon polish out here. There is also Diamond Luster polish that uses dupont teflon. They both claim 3 or more years of protection. Looks legit, but you never know.
